Busy weekend...
Jun. 15th, 2009 09:59 amTaylor Kitsch has signed on to “John Carter of Mars” as John Carter. Interesting.
Timur Bekmabetov says that in Wanted 2, he's totally going to resurrect Angelina's character. Because, really, why else did anyone go see that movie? Of course, I don't think he's actually signed her to it yet, so...
Marvel is supposed to have some big Captain America related announcement today. It might well be Cap casting. Hard to say. September Solicits are starting to com out today. Wait... is the bog news that Cap (as Steve) is coming back...? Because that's sort of 'Duh' news for me. There is no way, with a Captain America movie coming, that it wasn't going to happen. Will Colbert need to give the shield back?
The Superman strip from DC's new "Wednesday Comics" miniseries will debut July 8 in USA Today's print edition, and then be serialized weekly on the newspaper's website. It is cool and yet at the same time, it sort of feels like it is a little backward looking. Though a circulation of 2.11 million is not a number to sneeze at for exposure.
There are reviews coming in for Transformers 2 and they're rather mixed. I'm not expecting more than "Robots make things explode".
ITV has cancelled Primeval, as it is too expensive for the ratings it gets.
There are reports that starting at Astonishing X-Men #31, Phil Jimenez will be taking over the art duties.
The new writer for Teen Titans is Felicia D. Henderson. Currently she writes for Fringe and used to write for Gossip Girl. An interesting choice, certainly.
Bond's 23rd adventure will be written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (who wrote the previous two) and will be joined by Peter Morgan who penned Frost/Nixon and The Queen. Nice to see this getting under way.
Joss Whedon says he wants nothing to do with the re-launch Buffy movie. That probably wasn't helped by the fact taht they didn't ask him until after they announced they were doing it...
Tomorrow for Rock Band: Evanescence Track Pack, which includes - "Call Me When You're Sober", "Weight of the World" and the one which will cause pain "Bring Me To Life". I'm gonna have fun wailing that one.
There are begining to be promo bits for Battlestar Galactica: The Plan out there. You can find them on YouTube, of course.
I think that's it for me for now.
