Because I love you.
(And in case you can't remember what Magnum P.I.'s intro looked like - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEigvdbzia8&feature=player_embedded)

Jonah Hex picures are starting to be seen out there in the wild.

The reviews od Batman & Robin #1 are positive but I'm going to let someone else take the hit there. I still feel burned from my last trip into Morrison land.

*sigh* Sony is looking to make a H.R. Puffinstuff movie.

I love you for posting the Han Solo, PI thing.

Seriously.

Awwww. You're making me blush.

It was really well done and it made me grin, so I had to share.

It was near and dear to my heart as well.

I watched it until the reruns died--which broke my heart.

I would watch it if it was on. I remember being in Hawaii when it was on, which totally helped, I'm sure.

I won't really say too much about B&R because I don't want to taint the experience one way or the other but I enjoyed it. This book has quite a different feel to it and lacks the cryptic almost unreadable elements that plagued the Batman R.I.P. storyline. One thing that may sway your decision though is Damien. I personally like the character very much and think there is a lot of potential there, but I can understand people not liking him. If you are a Damien hater then this book probably isn't for you.

Than I'm going to likely come down that the book isn't for me. I'll probably read it at some point but my Bat titles are being drastically thinned as they come back.

I can understand that. DC is playing a risky game with the Batbooks right now. The two main titles are helmed by two very controversial writers, gone are all the long running titles save Batman and Detective, and many of the fan favorite characters are relegated to supporting roles (Oracle, Catwoman) while Bruce is out of the picture entirely (for at least the time being). Oh, and don't even get me started on Batgirl!
This is a make or break year for Batman and I hope they understand that if things go south the readership is likely to just say "Thanks, but no thanks." The economy is showing signs of stabilizing but that doesn't mean people have the money to burn on books that are so-so. Of course we are also quite lucky to have Greg and Paul putting in work on some of the titles so it won't be all bad.
We also have JH III's art in Detective and it is pretty enough that it doesn't matter what the story is. Combine that with Quietly and Tan doing the first 6 issues of Batman and Robin and it makes for a good start on the art side of things.
All that being said I am approaching the reboot/relaunch/rewhatever from an optimistic viewpoint and picking up the first few issues of all the books. I will give them all an equal chance and weed out the underperformers as I see fit.

Batgirl, I'm actually okay with where it is going, as I'm pretty sure I know who will be in the suit when the book starts coming out. Detective is a book that I will certainly be buying but that might be it for awhile unless I'm swayed by the work put out.

Unless I missed a piece of the puzzle in one of the many useless spinoffs to BftC it seems to me that if Cassie is not going to be Batgirl in the near future they have done a pretty crap job of leading in to the new series. I really hope it is at least hinted at in one of those unread issues. I suppose there is still time to do a proper lead in, but it seemed like DC wanted to stir the pot a bit with the Oracle mini and it was such a train wreck that if there was a clue there I wouldn't know. I think they want us to believe that Barbara could be Batgirl again, but I love Oracle (and really don't like Barbara as Batgirl). If they take Oracle out of the chair I think they are doing everyone a disservice. She has broken so many barriers by doing what she does all from the confines of wheelchair that it would be undermining such a great character and her achievements. So I guess if it can't be Cassie (grrr) then I would have to hope for Misfit taking on the role. Spoiler is such a spastic nut I don't think she deserves the job (not that Misfit is any less spastic). Stephanie just kinda rubs me the wrong way and I don't think I would enjoy the book at much. Of course since she and Cassie are friends it could play out where Cassie passes it on to her for whatever reason...
Well, I guess I'm not really any closer to knowing how it will play out. I just hope it does so in a way that makes sense rather than shoving someone new in the suit just for the sake of doing so.
