So, the bank wants my best and highest offer on the house today and all I can think is that I want to go back and look at it before I do that. I'm wondering if there is a way to make that happen.

Last night I found a very good friend from high school on Facebook. I hadn't seen Tobias in ten years and the last I'd heard from him, he'd been in the Army. I'd been occasionally checking the lists of the dead to make sure he wasn't on them. I was more relieved than I realized to find him, to talk to him. There might be more to say here but it hasn't formed to anything near words yet.

An interesting article on the state of retailing: http://www.forbes.com/2009/05/13/retail-industry-change-leadership-managing-revolution.html?partner=email

If there is anyone looking for a photography job, we're looking for someone to take product images for the site. You get to work with some really cool cameras.

Anyway... I've been putting off this entry for long enough.

I lost touch with one of my best friends from grade school in 1995. I tried many times to find him online or via friends. Nothing. Then a couple days ago I got a friends request on Facebook from him. I understand what you mean about being more relieved than you thought you would be.

*big hugs*

I would just tell the bank that you would like to see it one more time before making your best and highest offer....tell them you have looked at more than one house, and the finer details of them have blended together in your mind, so you do not wish to make the offer without seeing it again

hopefully they will understand and not be pressuring you so much

Good luck :)

I am not a real estate agent, but I'd be cautious about giving a "best and highest offer." This is your bank, that you're getting the loan from, doing the asking? Anytime I hear that I'd be concerned someone is trying to screw me. Particularly in this market, the buyer has the power, and you shouldn't let people try and bully you higher than you need to go.

If you know exactly what you're doing and this is perfectly reasonable, ignore me.

*chuckles*

No, I understand where you're coming from. The bank foreclosed on this property and they're trying to move it really quickly, having taking 100K off the asking price. There are several competing offers in on the house and they're looking for the best. Having talking to a few people, while this is rushed it isn't too shady for the situation, all things considered.

Ah. That sounds not unreasonable. I agree that you'd be perfectly within your rights to ask to look at the house again. I'd still probably lowball them a little bit, were it me, but you'd know the market and your chances of finding something similar better than I.

Yeah. I'm going to go look at it again tomorrow morning and see what I can see.
