Go downtown and get new Driver's License.
Find elusive hair dye that I wish to use.
Bleach and dye hair.
Look for a place on Cap Hill for Yoga or Tai Chi or something else excercise like.

Heh. Heh.

Figure out how character is going to explain large sword wound to boyfriend to protect her secret identity.

Sword wounds are always difficult to explain...not much make-up can do to help either...

No kidding.

Hrm.

'I cut myself shaving.'

Alternately, you could ask the boyfriend if he really loves you, and go off on that tack for a while. I've had a number of girlfriends try mind-gamey shit like that to keep secrets from me.

While she'd play that sort of game, she hasn't even mentioned love yet. It's a little early for such games.

Yeah.

"I fell on a kitchen knife.... Yes. I know. It was pointing straight up. I noticed that it nearly went through my shoulder. I'm lucky.... yes... close to my heart too. I noticed that as well."

Uh.

Maybe?

Where is the wound and how deep is it?

That's going to affect what excuses will work.

Pretty deep. The sword nearly went through her shoulder. It's nasty.

From the front? Or was she stabbed in the back?

From the front. Sword yanked itself out of the wall and tried to kill her.

There's the old "Just ... don't ... ask."

Or ignore it -- pretend the wound doesn't exist. "Huh? What gaping wound?"

"It was a freak lawnmower accident."

"It's a cultural thing."

Hmm ... what kind of sword was it? That /also/ makes a difference.

Cultural thing... Heh. Yeah. We Greeks do this sort of thing...

It was... Ummmm... I got the mental image of something between a katana and a scimitar (not a flachion, but a scimitar), but I could be wrong.

Hmm.

How wide is the wound?

If it was a straight stab, then it could be anywhere from 2-4 inches (roughly), but if there was a slashing motion involved, it could be considerably longer.

It was pretty straight, but then again there was struggling and she was dodging.

If you have sufficient willpower (and healing rate) just keep it bandaged and say it's just a light cut you got from some random houshold acident (falling light fixtures work, but make sure you actually break one and it has long nasty shards, add some blood splatters for good measure). Really hard to tell how deep it is if it's bandaged... of course if it's really wide then you may have a problem.

Minor car accident near her? Flying glass and metal could make nasty gashes. I don't know if it would make sense for her not to have mentioned it before, though.
