Sci-Fi Channel has announced today that it is changing its name to Syfy on July 7th. Because that's going to help the problems of ANACONDAS ATTACK AGAIN! or whatever it is you're running. Morons.

Neil Gaiman, according to his blog, will be on the Colbert Report tonight.

Barack Obama will become the First sitting U.S. President to appear on the Tonight Show on Thursday.

Very intersting write up over here on the deaths of legacy characters: http://www.weeklycrisis.com/2009/03/death-of-legacy-character.html

“Fox may differ from me, but I personally don’t consider him as Deadpool,” Reynolds told Latino Review. “I’m the thing that will eventually become Deadpool.” Interesting comment there...

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is the next DCU Animated property. Interesting stuff there, I thought.

There is seemingly a MacGuyver movie in the works. Which could work but really just makes me sigh.

Paul Campbell will lead the cast of ABC's "No Heroics," reports Variety. The show is about a group of four B-level heroes and Campbell plays a Canadian superhero who can freeze small objects.

It looks like The Avengers has been pushed back. There are rumors that they're clearing space for a sequel to The Dark Knight (which would be odd since that isn't even really locked in anywhere yet) OR (and more likely) that they're trying to make space for Favreau to be able to do that movie as well. Thay have a Harry Potter movie or two to dodge.

And I'm sure there is more but really, I'm not digging back any further right now. Need foods.

Whoever came up with the whole, "Syfy" schitck.. I hope he gouged MILLIONS for it. I hope that he raped SciFi wholesale. Because this man, or woman, was brilliant. They managed to take a company who really does cater to some of the most intelligent people on Earth, and convinced them that by changing their name, they would become cooler.

Rather than you know, changing what counts, like programming or company goals.

This is something we all learned from after school specials!

So, cheers to the wo/man who convinced the network they needed a new image. S/he has managed to singlehandedly make SciFi look as intelligent as a rabid wombat on steroids.

Wait, didn't they make a movie with that as a monster?

Could you imagine if they made Ryan Reynolds the rotting/self healing Deadpool of the now? I think it would be awesome, but then only the people that have read Deadpool comics would be excited by that :)

Reynolds told me that, too. I put that up on Saturday.

Also. Syfy would be pronounced "siffy."

What do you think of that? The whole possible lots of Deadpool in the future and this is a beginning sort of thing?

Yeah. Well. Ehn. Doesn't make it less geeky.

Provided it's done well, I can be okay with it. It's kinda what I expected. He also said that we'll see him get scarred up, though, so I think he's going to be more like early Deadpool than batshit insane full-on party-time Deadpool. Which is fine for a Wolverine movie. I think part of it also is him saying 'we're not including the fourth-wall breakage, either, because it doesn't fit in this movie.' Which I also expected. I'm hoping all the good dudes in it can make up for my Gambit hate enough for me to enjoy it.

Syfy is the dumbest thing ever.

*laughs* Well, we'll see. It looks like some SERIOUS cheese there. I'm looking forward to it but man, it looks cheese-tastic.

Apparently Syfy is the name of a venereal disease in Polish. Well done, gentlemen. No need to research that new name at all...

Did they change their minds about doing Green Lantern as their next animated movie? Or, will Superman/Batman be a TV series? (Hopefully, if so, better than Brave and the Bold.)
