FYI - The digital transition has officially been moved back to June 12th. People are grumpy about it costing too much and so on and so forth. I get grumpy about this because there are large electronics chain retailers who are actively trying to make people buy TVs much more expensive than they need for this. It is a horrible thing to do.

Tonight's Lost is co-written by Brian K. Vaughn. Hold on to your heartstrings, people.

BBC America announced it’s bringing two more new sci-fi shows to the U.S. this year. The first is "Survivors" which sort of sounds like The Stand. The second is "Being Human" which is about a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost who team up to fight crime. So, that'll be interesting.

"Sony Pictures Consumer Products and Mattel, Inc. announced today the development of a new collectible line of toys based on the world’s favorite poltergeist fighting team, the Ghostbusters, including an extensive cast of ghosts and ghostbusters - celebrating the 25th anniversary of the frightfully funny classic film “Ghostbusters.”"

Everyone involved with Watchmen is taking turns shooting down the idea of a Watchmen 2. Thank God.

It looks like about 50 minutes of Up will be shown at New York Comic Con.

Sony Pictures Animation has set a deal with Platinum Studios, Inc. to develop an animated feature. This means something to you because the last time Sony and Platinum got together, we got Men in Black.

I'm at least open to giving it a chance.

Man, why am I imagining the ubiquitous "They" asking the equally ubiquitous "everyone involved with The Watchmen film" about the possibility of a Watchmen 2 and the latter responding "Would you like us to answer 'No' simultaneously or consecutively?" Then the former somehow decides on consecutively, "Just in case." XDDD

Heh. Well, so far everyone they've asked has been, "Why would you do that?"

Hahah, nice!

Actually, now I'm reminded of the SNL skit where Will Farrel and... someone else ^^;; interview Peter Jackson about doing a Lord of the Rings sequel. I love when they get to the part where they suggest to him, "Maybe Frodo didn't destroy the ring?" "But he did." "But maybe he didn't." "But he did." "Ok, that sounds great. But what if he didn't?" "But he did."

XDDDD

That was Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller. You can see it on the second disc of the extended edition of ROTK (go to scene selection, scroll past the last scene, hit enter).

There's similar easter eggs on disc 1 of FOTR (Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar at the council of Elrond, from the MTV movie awards, I think), disc 1 of TTT (Gollum chewing out Andy Serkis when he gets an award for being "a bitch to work with"), and disc 1 of ROTK (blanking on this one, though I know ROTK was the only one with two easter eggs).

Ooooh, that's right! Thanks for the reminder of where that's from (and who's actually in it ^^;;).

I saw the pilot for Being Human and absolutely loved it. They changed two of the actors and some minor plot bits, but apparently the series is still as good as the pilot was.

Also...

"Ghostbusters" collectors can also look forward to 6-inch figures, with one debuting at San Diego Comic Con in July 2009. Sculpted by Four Horsemen Studios, the team currently working on Mattel's popular DC Universe™ Classics and Masters of the Universe® Classics collectible lines, the 6-inch line will come complete with authentic "Ghostbusters" equipment and ghost. "

Because I am a toy dork, this actually feels me with happy.

Somehow, i don't think that Ghostbusters toys will save Mattel's collective bacon.

No. I don't think it will save Mattel OR Sony.

Yeah, they may claim to be gods, but I don't think they really are.

Already seen Survivors - it is lots of good and has Paterson Joseph in it being a bad-ass.

Maybe not Watchmen 2, but they can still make Watchmen Babies in V for Vacation right?
