This is a beginning. Obama is not holy, he is not divinity, he is not Jesus nor Muhammed. He is human, he is a politician. He is not perfect. He will absolutely do things I will not agree with. He will again certainly compromise where I wish he wouldn't. I have faith that he is better than what has come before and faith is not faith, I believe, unless it is tested. Besides, as was said, there is nothing false about hope.

And, my friends, it is time for us to step up. http://www.usaservice.org If you looked for a way to volunteer and a place to help, that's a first step.

And man, Aretha's hat was something, wasn't it?

Indeed. I'm tired of people telling me I voted for this man because of the media or because I think he will fix absolutely everything. Just not possible. However, I can't let go of the happy!

I'm certainly still very happy about this. I can't even explain the happy but... Yeah. I'm expecting to not love everything he does. He's already made some choices I'm not thrilled with.

The happy is at least partly the fact that for those of us who are anti-Bush, eight years of nightmare politics are *over*. Obama isn't, in fact, the Second Coming, but the sheer unmitigated relief of no longer having GWB in office goes a long damned way toward carrying joy into my heart.

Well, I'm more just grumpy with the people who assume I'm blinded by his charisma and I'll just assume that he'll fix everything with the power of sheer awesomeness or something. I didn't vote for him because he was magic. I voted for him because he had a plan and I liked it.
