Made it into work today, thank goodness. I get so much more done here. It took a bit of time, though. You, though, get entertainment updates, of course, while I'm waiting for reports to run in the background.

Stephen Chow said he will no longer direct the Hollywood adaptation of "The Green Hornet" and may not star as Kato. He said over the weekend that he wants to free up time to work with Jack Black on a comedy about a superhero. Which would be cool but no Stephen Chow and my interest in this project vanishes.

This... I'm not sure what to think of this: http://splashpage.mtv.com/2008/12/23/fan-made-thundercats-movie-trailer-brad-pitt-as-lion-o-hugh-jackman-as-tygra/ Though, Vin Diesel makes a convincing Panthro, I think.

The trailer for Ed Brubaker’s new online TV series, Angel of Death, is now on Crackle.com. Starting in February, it is about a mob assassin who, after suffering a traumatic head injury, begins to see the ghosts of her victims. This sends her on the side of the angels, as she hunts down her former employers. The episodes be 8 to 10 minutes long, and will go for for ten weeks starting in February. Also starring are Doug Jones, Lucy Lawless, and Ted Raimi. I'm interested.

Ron Moore says about the final Cylon: "It will never be as powerful as the build-up. I resigned myself to that a long time ago. The "Who Shot JR" of it all is an instructive lesson: No matter who it is, it's still going to be a bit of a letdown. But I decided that precisely because of that, it wasn't going to be in the final episode. I didn't want that to become the entire series. I'm sure there will be a variety of reactions. Some people will love it, some people will hate it. But I think when you see how the revelation fits into the overall mythology of the show, when all the questions are answered by the end, then it'll make sense and you'll think, "Oh, well it kind of had to be that person."

Judge Dredd is looking at another shot at a movie. Before you roll your eyes too much please note that the production company behind this remake is DNA Films. That company was behind the Danny Boyle's movies Sunshine and 28 Days Later. So all else fails, it will be entirely different than the Stallone version.

Per Entertainment Weekly there will be two "significant" female deaths on Heroes in the Spring. One of which will be permanent. The other one is "up in the air at the moment." Huh.

The Hollywood Reporter now confirms the Fox network is officially developing the television series "Bitches." This will be about..... female werewolves. Which... It's Fox. I'm going to have to watch an episode, at least but... Well. Huh. It makes me laugh, if nothing else.

And that's not a lot but there seems to be a lot of grumpiness about child pornography in comics right now as well as an attempt to prove once and for all who the greatest Green Lantner is but... I'll just let those people yell at each other.

I was amused by the Thundercats trailer. Might have felt differently if it were real, but oh well.

Which show is this?

Heh. I thought I put that in there. Heroes.

I'm the greatest Green Lantern.

Damn it, why are you just telling me this /now/?

...So no Stephen Chow on the Green Hornet, but they're keeping Seth Rogen. UGH.

*gasps* And they're killing female characters on Heroes? They've never done that before1

Yeah. No kidding.

Can we kill Mohinder already? That'd be good.

Can we kill Mohinder Sylar already? That'd be good.

Fixed.

I'd be okay with that too. I like sociopaths and liked Sylar but the whole story arc (if you can all two and a half episodes an arc) with Elle was just absurd.

I thuink Sylar fell victim to the Villain We Like So Much That We Decided To Make Him A Hero syndrome. Spike, Catwoman, Magneto, Emma Frost, sometimes it works, some times it doesn't. The fact that Sylar is a sociopathic serial killer makes it a little harder to go with this time around.

Yeah. The thing that bugged me, though, was that it was like they knee jerked it back. Like the stepped into it up to the knee and decided they didn't like it and jumped out.

See, I always get seriously squicked when the serial killer or other type of criminals get this 'OMG they're so cool!' thing.

I have a weird fascination with sociopaths. I know it is weird and I shouldn't like them but they're just fascinating to me.

Wait, you're doing it wrong.

Can we kill Mohinder Sylar already? That'd be good.

There, fixed.

No, I was doing it right. No love for the sociopathic one-note serial killer on my end.

Though, I could care less about PlotHinder, either, but priorities, I say.

I really only want to keep Hiro and Ando as long as they aren't making them morons, though I'm firmly expecting Ando to be kidnapped and turned into a power battery now. Parkman's okay but Daphne is more interesting. Peter can go. Hell, the Patrelli's don't really interest me much - the come across as unable to commit to a course of action (younger generation) or hand-puppet evil (older generation). HRG should stay.

I stopped watching around the Sylar/Elle bits. I went online, and I was like 'Hey, didn't Sylar kill her father?' and the other fans were like 'So? What's that supposed to mean?'

Daphne, I did like. I just get nervous because it seems the writers are trying to please the most vocal viewers (which is why Niki got killed; the fans). That kind of fan control scares me.

I think that'll change when Fuller comes back. While I'm totally against the death of Pushing Daisies, I'm hoping he'll have more of a stabilizing influence.

What a waste. I will miss PD, and I don't think Heroes is really fixable.

I'm shocked that Elle cared when her dad died. Everyone was tiptoeing around her as their pet sociopath. I though the Sylar/Elle thing was going to turn into a super powered Bonny and Clyde routine. I think that would have been interesting.

I agree with you though, re: Sylar is the villain we like too much. It just makes it hard to do anything with him once you've hit that point.

Re: Heroes....who cares? :P I sense shark jumping there, and in season 3, that's way early.

By the way, everyone knows who the greatest Lantern is. See the tallest guy in this link. Poozer.

MOGO.

*ahem*

And I'm hoping Bryan Fuller will save the show.

There are a lot of people up in arms as there have been some high profile cases recently. So... Lots of people talking about their views and, of course, not agreeing with each other.

I'm kinda curious what comics are involved in this. Is it American comics? Whenever I hear about child pornography in comics, it usually has to do with manga.

There is a ton on it on the Newsarama boards these days and Neil Gaiman posted about it as well. http://journal.neilgaiman.com/2008/12/word-person-included-fictional-or.html The beginning of it involves Simpsons characters in Australia.

Oooh, I did hear about the Simpsons one. That was fan art though, right? I'll check the link in a bit.

It is but the conversation has spilled out into pornographic comics and all sorts of other things. Lost Girls and so on and so forth.

Ah, I see. Oh man, this also just reminded of me about some otaku in Japan that wanted to be able to legally marry a manga character or something ridiculous like that (more over-personification of fictitious characters).
