Catching up...
Dec. 23rd, 2008 10:29 amMade it into work today, thank goodness. I get so much more done here. It took a bit of time, though. You, though, get entertainment updates, of course, while I'm waiting for reports to run in the background.
Stephen Chow said he will no longer direct the Hollywood adaptation of "The Green Hornet" and may not star as Kato. He said over the weekend that he wants to free up time to work with Jack Black on a comedy about a superhero. Which would be cool but no Stephen Chow and my interest in this project vanishes.
This... I'm not sure what to think of this: http://splashpage.mtv.com/2008/12/23/fan-made-thundercats-movie-trailer-brad-pitt-as-lion-o-hugh-jackman-as-tygra/ Though, Vin Diesel makes a convincing Panthro, I think.
The trailer for Ed Brubaker’s new online TV series, Angel of Death, is now on Crackle.com. Starting in February, it is about a mob assassin who, after suffering a traumatic head injury, begins to see the ghosts of her victims. This sends her on the side of the angels, as she hunts down her former employers. The episodes be 8 to 10 minutes long, and will go for for ten weeks starting in February. Also starring are Doug Jones, Lucy Lawless, and Ted Raimi. I'm interested.
Ron Moore says about the final Cylon: "It will never be as powerful as the build-up. I resigned myself to that a long time ago. The "Who Shot JR" of it all is an instructive lesson: No matter who it is, it's still going to be a bit of a letdown. But I decided that precisely because of that, it wasn't going to be in the final episode. I didn't want that to become the entire series. I'm sure there will be a variety of reactions. Some people will love it, some people will hate it. But I think when you see how the revelation fits into the overall mythology of the show, when all the questions are answered by the end, then it'll make sense and you'll think, "Oh, well it kind of had to be that person."
Judge Dredd is looking at another shot at a movie. Before you roll your eyes too much please note that the production company behind this remake is DNA Films. That company was behind the Danny Boyle's movies Sunshine and 28 Days Later. So all else fails, it will be entirely different than the Stallone version.
Per Entertainment Weekly there will be two "significant" female deaths on Heroes in the Spring. One of which will be permanent. The other one is "up in the air at the moment." Huh.
The Hollywood Reporter now confirms the Fox network is officially developing the television series "Bitches." This will be about..... female werewolves. Which... It's Fox. I'm going to have to watch an episode, at least but... Well. Huh. It makes me laugh, if nothing else.
And that's not a lot but there seems to be a lot of grumpiness about child pornography in comics right now as well as an attempt to prove once and for all who the greatest Green Lantner is but... I'll just let those people yell at each other.

Date: 2008-12-23 07:50 pm (UTC)Daphne, I did like. I just get nervous because it seems the writers are trying to please the most vocal viewers (which is why Niki got killed; the fans). That kind of fan control scares me.
