Sooo... That's not good.
Dec. 16th, 2008 12:14 pmThe early reviews for The Spirit are not good. In fact they're worse than 'not good'. Reading a few of them we've sailed past Catwoman in terms of badness factor. Which is really, really saying something. There was even a comparison to Battlefield Earth. Yeah. That bad. I'm sure it will be pretty but I'm not sure that's enough to save it if the reviews are true.
Speaking of Catwoman, the rumors around Batman 3 will not die, no matter how many times Nolan says he's not there yet. Unnamed Warner Bros. sources are claiming that Rachel Weisz is being considered for the role of Catwoman. Not a horrible choice, I have to say.
Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett have officially signed to Tron 2.0.
Merlin, a new series that NBC will air early next year, just got a second-season greenlight from the BBC, which is FANTASTIC. I've heard nothing but good, good things about this show and I can't wait to get to see it. John Hurt and Anthony Stewart Head are both in it as well.
Summit Entertainment will release New Moon on November 20, 2009. They're rushing forward on this and it feels like a mistake. Your lead actor hates his character, you've got a new director who's last movie did very poorly.... Sounds chancy to me. Still, millions of screaming fangirls are willing to throw money at it.
