I worry about the show, if we're getting through lead actors this quickly :-(

The Doctor's only supposed to have twelve regenerations...we only have three to go now.

They already hit, in the new series, on how they're going to deal with that--there's a throwaway line about the Master being brought back even after he'd used up all his regenerations, because the Time Lords decided he needed to be (I forget the line exactly). I was having a--ok, this sounds impossibly name-droppy, but I can't see a way around it--a conversation with one of the show's writers, and we were all (those of us who weren't the writer) bitching about how there were only 3 regenerations left, and then we sort of all at once said, "Well, there was that thing with the Master," and the writer said, "Ah, you *were* paying attention...!" So I'm pretty sure they'll get around it via something very like that.
