Apparently an apology has been issued:
"If my comments caused any harm or hurt to the hard working Americans who play Dungeons & Dragons, I apologize. This campaign is committed to increasing the strength, constitution, dexterity, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma scores of every American. "

The thing is, I cannot, for the life of me, find this on any official sites. I can find it on a lot of blog sites but if anyone can find this on a McCain site or something like that, I'd appreciate it.
Still, it sounds like the guy is snickering as he types it.

That's probably going to still make me laugh tomorrow. This is like insulting cat macro lovers and later apologizing with a cat macro that says, "Can I has forgiveness?"
