"The Dark Knight" took in $66.4 million on Friday, making it the biggest Friday opening ever. This is after it was the largest midnight showing total ever at $18.5 million.

Look out Spider-Man.

Look out. $151.1 million is within distance of here.

Of course, this is Hollywood math, so its take was not as great as the inflation-adjusted take of the midnight showings of Star Wars III, according to the L.A. Times, which did not note that Star Wars opened on a Wednesday morning, not a Friday morning (although I'm not sure how much difference that would make, people still had to go to work the next day) nor that Star Wars III would have taken in more if Star Wars II hadn't kinda sucked and Star Wars I hadn't really sucked.

Darth Vader > The Joker.

Ehn.

I enjoyed this more than any of the prequels.

Honestly, massive openings are nice and all, but what impresses these days are movies with legs. If TDK has a second week depreciation of less than forty percent, then that's impressive.

I've seen it twice and I only have small issues with it, most of which I can hand wave.

my biggest is the weakness of the two-face bits it's like they just tossed it in there cause they either had to or they just felt like doing so but with not much thought put into it. Other than that I'd just want better seats if I went to see it again.
