I like to think of his Newsies character as sort of an early "Matches Malone" persona for him. Not as dangerous as "Matches," of course, but someone who can move about in the underbelly of a city and wield influence.

The biggest cognitive dissonance for me is watching Priscilla Queen of the Desert and then watching Fellowship of the Ring. Elrond is such a fag ;)
