"We don't have an option now. I mean, when we were at the beginning of this thing, if I'd lost Iowa, y'know, it would have been okay. One of the other Democrats would have emerged and they would have carried the banner and we would have joined their campaign and we would have moved forward and the country would move in a better direction. But because we won, we now have no choice. We have to win and we don't have a choice. We don't have a choice because now, all those people who I met who really need help, they're not going to get help."

I want to believe and not be cyincal again. But after 2004, I firmly believe that given a clear choice between right and wrong, people will choose wrong en masse.

Obama is trying to change the politics - encouraging people to vote based on hope and progress instead of old fears.

Hope vs. Fear

It'll be interesting to see what wins out.

Hope can be hard. It can be very hard.

And fear is pretty easy. Unfortunately.

sometime in the coming months, Obama is probably going to be the beneficiary of my first ever political contribution. Not right now, though. :)

*chuckles*

I didn't mean for people to feel they had do donate, that's just the only place I know of where you can see that video.

He's already been the recipient of my first political donations. Both of them.

After one of our conversations with you (I think it was the first time you came up and we all talked politics), Chris turned to me and said, "I might actually contribute to the election fund." And he was talking about Obama. I was floored.

He's never sided with the Democratic party in his entire life.
