Sasquatch - Day 1

litheraVince Mira with the Roy Kay Trio - Holy crap. A 16 year old should NOT be able to sound JUST like Johnny Cash. Damn. And I thought Johnny Lang was good. (Well, he still is but you know what I mean.) The rockabilly trio backing him up were enjoyable too. Will have to look into getting albums.
MIA - A little too much siren and too many sampled gunshots but other than that, I liked it. Not really my music but I could appreciate the skill in beat matching and general DJing that was going on behind her as well as the fact that she was really, really good.
Ozomatli - Again, not really my thing but enjoyable. I enjoy anything I can groove to and there was certainly a lot of good grooving going on here.
New Pornographers - I'm torn here. Nothing specifically that I loved (except the cover song they did at the end) but nothing that I hated either.
Modest Mouse - I got the feeling that this was not an on night for those guys. I mean, nothign sounded bad and they played all of the songs I would have wanted them to play but it just sort of felt like they were in a bad mood or ... something. Not entirely sure.
R.E.M - Yeah! We didn't stay for the eoncore, which I'm sort of bummed about but I was cold and tierd and wet from all of the rain and I got to hear the first two songs of it on my way out to the car anyway. It was COLD, damn it, when the wind started to blow. I did get to see them live, though, so that's awesome.
Today shall be (at the very least) Presidents, Death Cab and not letting Sean throw things at the stage when The Cure play.
