The red band trailer for The Happening is... Ummmmm. Disturbing. There is a reason this is a red band trailer. Dear Lord. This movie just got a lot more interesting and a lot more likely that I'll see it and try not to tweak.

It looks like The Dark Knight is PG-13 from the ads I'm seeing on TV. Innnnnnteresting.

It looks like Sony is getting ready to start moving forward with Spider-Man 4 and 5. There are rumors of a two movies shot at once deal out of the script they have. We shall see.

Nice final Hellboy poster - http://www.aintitcool.com/node/36784

What's a red band trailer? And the Happening...ain't happening for me. The whole 'OMG Apocalypse The End Oh oez!' movie genre is seriously played out, especially in the last year or so.

When you see a trailer, they're usually preceded by a green screen with a rating. Red band trailers are preceeded by a red screen because the trailer itself has R rated material and is not meant for young audiences. They've been making a comeback in the past year or so after all but disappearing.

I felt the same way, myself. This feels a little different to me. I could be wrong but I'm hoping that this will be better.

I don't remember red bands on trailers. But, I am taking notes so I know the next time. :) Thank you for that info!

Yeah. The last time I remember seeing one in the theater was like... over a decade ago. Even longer, I think.

Why are you surprised at the Dark Knight rating?

It was rumored that they were having issues with the ratings board getting the rating they wanted because it was too dark.

Ahh. I'm sure they cut and bribed and leveraged until they got what they wanted. There was no way they'd put it out at R.

Red band trailers are cool, but I'm passing on this movie - M. Night has disappointed me in the past, and I just can't be bothered with his movies anymore. It'll probably end up being all a bad dream Marky Mark has, after eating some undercooked pizza...made by undead aliens from outer space!

*cue scary music*

Or something equally unexpected/lame...

But, Hellboy? Very cool, indeed...

That's how I felt but I'm a sucker for this sort of stuff.

I think I'll be seeing The Happening after that. Up until this point I was ready to ignore it completely but now it looks just fucked up enough to draw me in.

See?

See?

We had the same reaction there.

I thought the most recent trailer looked good - but this one is even better. A lot more disturbing. Definitely seeing this one.
