Yeah, this episode blew me away. Heart wrenching!!! But may I suggest you read my post on my other blog to get my full impressions... especially regarding a different take on the very ending.
We had much the same reaction. I knew where they were going. With what I think is happening on the island, with the time difference between the island and the real world... Even if that last scene isn't because of anything that happened after getting back, it likely won't matter.
The time difference even after a few years.... would be huge.
It didn't grab me as much as the rest of this season did.
There are three reasons for that:
1. No action took place - no decisions were completed. Well, unless you count Juliette spilling the infidelity beans.
2. I know this sounds petty, but Jin doesn't HAVE A KOREAN ACCENT. I know a Korean accent and its thick, especially if you've only been speaking English for 2-3 months.
3. You can't learn that much English in 2-3 months.
I mean really, it sounds petty - but I kept on being pulled out of the show whenever Daniel Dae Kim was doing his faux Hangul-cum-English accent.
Also, no Korean man I've ever met would forgive his wife so easily.
Also, no Korean woman I've ever met would take Juliette's accusations so calmly. She'd be screaming and screeching at the top of her lungs about how the crazy white woman was trying to kill her.
Daniel Dae Kim speaks Korean for shit - hence his crappy Korean accent. He's said in interviews that he fellow Korean co-star has been getting him through speaking Korean.
Luckily for me, I don't speak Korean (surprise!), so it's not really distracting.

Not that I don't love the show, but...
