I am ill.

I'm not entirely certain how sick I am as it seems to come and go, really. This morning I was feeling like warmed over death on toast. Right now, I'm okay - sinus headachey and generally achey and grumpy. Earlier I had the chills which made me think I might have a fever but I don't - if this cheap thermometer is to be believed at least.

I'm spacey and cold. I do not like this.

Not at all.

I would prefer to be able to do more of the thinking. I like the thinking. I dislike having to rewrite things four or five times in order to be able to be clear.

Bleh.

Pretty much every flu has a name; human flus are normally named after the city they're first uniquely identified in (Brisbane type A, really "A/Brisbane/10/2007"), non-human flus normally just by an indicator of the genetic subtype (really protein subtypes) (H5N1, aka "bird flu"; "Brisbane" flu, for reference, is a H3N2 flu). Flus can be further divided into clades and subclades.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_flu has some interesting general reading, and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H5N1#Terminology discusses how flu strains are named.
