My weekend...
Feb. 25th, 2008 09:22 amWell, I think that might well be the fastest I've used all four major modes of transportation in a year (car/bus/truck, train, plane and boat). I drove onto the ferry to head over to Carol's place on Saturday. I'd forgotten how absolutely beautiful it is on that side of the water. Or, perhaps not forgotten, but the impact had lessened, the tim had dimmed the image of it in my mind.
I visited Carol and her family and had a good time. I had a kidlet attached to me almost the entire time, which is in no way a bad thing. I haven't been told "I love you" so many times in a day.... possibly ever. Nat and Em are fantastic girls. I'd been feeling a lack of little girl children in my life as all of my friends seem to be having boys. Nothing wrong with boys, just a weird imbalance.
I drove past Bangor and Silverdale and Pouslbo and all of that on my way to Mike's from there. Poulsbo is like a real town now. Seriously, there is stuff there. It isn't at all like I remember it being. Silverdale is freaking HUGE now and there is development all over the place over there. And then I drove over the new Narrows bridge. It is a nice bridge. Cant' say too much about it, really.
The chocolate party was lovely, though a little small. I had drinks and a bit of chocolate. Not a lot, though, which was actually pretty freaking awesome. We played Rock Band and Adrienne has an amazing singing voice. Drumming is still hard.
Sunday I went to see Tron with Holly at the Cinerama because she'd never seen it. There were sound issues at first but they fixed them. The print was in pretty good shape, all in all. There were a few scratches and spots in it but nothing largely distracting. Holly and I went to Top Pot and talked a lot. I have plans and things and ideas and Holly gave me some more! Must grab her and Kris and go together to buy some things and stuff for plottings and plannings.
Then I went with Kris to get plants. Plants are good. I like repotting plants, which I think I'll have to do again rather soon with most of the ones we got, depending on a lot of things, of course.
Went to Best Buy, didn't get anything. Confirmed that, yes, in order for us to use the HD cable box with a Tivo, I need an HD Tivo and to get the cardy things from Comcast because they're lame like that. Ugh. HD Tivo is expensive. It'll be something that comes .... at some point. I want to use the freaking TV for all of the delicious HD! NOMNOMNOM, HD.
And then I was strangely sore and tired all day yesterday. Probably the late night, though I got enough sleep.... Ehn. I don't know. I'm still a little stiff today. Not sure what's up with that.
And for those of you keeping up with the whole Jimmy Kimmel and Matt Damon thing here is the newest bit - http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=42323 Cameos galore! I liked the Sarah Silverman song better but Kimmel got some pretty impressive people involved in his. Some of them are no surprise at all but others... Well, watch it yourself.

Date: 2008-02-25 05:47 pm (UTC)They get lots of points for essentially inventing an amazing way of watching TV, but they've pretty much stood still over the last few years and let everyone else catch up.
Oh at some point, Comcast's DVRs are going to start running TiVo software.
