Warner Bros. will turn anime artist Katsuhiro Otomo's six-volume graphic novel masterwork "Akira" into two live action feature films, the first of which is being fast tracked for release in summer 2009.

And TRON is at the Cinerama this weekend. Who wants to go see it with me? C'MON! I even made a Tron reference in casual conversation today.

Well, three movies is always a better choice than two movies, to me. But two movies is better than one movie. While the anime Akira is awesome, it's not the same story as the comic Akira.

It'll be interesting to see it live-action, but hey, Transformers worked, so why not?
