Randy Pausch was an amazing teacher at MIT. He has pancreatic cancer and is still alive at the moment but he is not expecting to make it much longer. He gave an amazingly inspirational last lecture. (It is an hour and a half long but well spent time, I think.)

And JJ Abrams helped him fulfill one of his dreams.

And that's really cool.

Yeah, he was a CMU professor, not at MIT. (I went to CMU. I didn't know him personally, I only met him once or twice, but he's just one of those guys that EVERYONE loves.) I still can't believe how well he seems to be taking the whole "Oh yeah, and I'm dying in 6 months or so" thing.

Welll either you accept it or you don't. You can be miserable, but why bother.

If he and I were to step out in front of a bus, we'd both be dead. The difference is, he can see the bus coming.

I could be wrong. I just went off of the first source instead of double checking.
