First order of the post - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY PIRATE QUEEN LYS! YEAH!!!

The BPAL order should be in late this week or early next week. That means we should have the sniffy party on the first of December. Is that okay with everyone? Edity-edit: How about next Wednesday, the 28th?

Phil Noto is going to be at the Emerald City Comic Con. This makes me very happy. I am hoping to be an actual volunteer at the show this year instead of running around doing volunteer things without being a volunteer. (I like helping people, what can I say? People are stuck at a table all day, sometimes they need some coffee or water or something. And I'm not doing anything vitally important....)

I'm going to stop myself from going off on a rant about how stupid it is that a lot of writers at the Comic Conventions I've been to just sit around with no love but artists... artists have lines that extend to the moon. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE me some comic art but it seems to me that one side here, doesn't live without the other.

Okay. Really stopping now.

As a writer myself, I totally see where you're coming from, but I really think that a big part of it is you can sometimes get something genuinely tangible from the artists, whereas you're probably not going to get a personalized comic script from a writer... :)

Emerald City Comic Con. Ooh! I didn't even know there was one! :)

There is one! It is pretty small still but totally enjoyable. I think this is the 4th year? 5th year..? Something like that.

Hrmmmm. Maybe one of these con's I'll go around to all of the writers and get them to write me a dialogue bubble or a word box and sign it. *grins*

...that is a totally awesome idea. :) Perhaps like with artists you could ask for a specific character dialog bubble or text box. *laughs* You could do it like, "So what *would* Rogue say if somebody asked her..." :) Hee hee hee!

It'll be fun! I've gotta get a new book!

Oooh, great idea! Have a book with one (or more) pre-made pictures of characters talking to each other, with big blank baloons over their heads. Get the writers to supply the dialog!

I have an artist's opening to go to the afternoon of the 1st... and I'm pretty sure we don't have game that day.

Would you maybe want to go to the opening with me, and then we can do sniffy stuffs?

We don't have game that day. That's why I picked it!

That would be a possibility. I'll have to see how I feel then and how busy work things are.

That rant reminds me of my senior year at Bard. I got jealous of the receptions that art majors had when they finished their senior projects and could hang their art everywhere, so I had a math opening.

I photocopied my thesis and put pages all up in the wall in a common room, brought down my stereo, and let people bask in my creation...

It shipped on the 14th and it's coming in late this week or next week? It usually takes three days from California, five days if it's busy. They sent you a Click-N-Ship, you know, you can track where it is and find out exactly when it'll be delivered that way.

The 28th works for me, as long as it stars kinda late. I got classes unto 6:40, I usually get home 7:30-ish.

I didn't get an e-mail nothing. I'm just looking at the CCNow thingy. I've never gotten anything tracking wise from BPAL.

Thanks! It's been mind numbingly dull so far, but hey, I had a great party on Saturday, so I can't complain. :)

Dull isn't always bad, you know.

Oh so true, but this particular name brand of dull happens to consist of surfing job boards and submitting resumes, so not exactly a relaxing time. Could be much worse, though.

Wednesday would be difficult for me, given my work hours and the fact that I'm not going to get any sleep Sunday night. I might make it, I might not.
