Variety says Dushku will star in the Whedon-penned series "Dollhouse," which has been given a seven-episode order by Fox. Produced by 20th Century Fox TV "Dollhouse" follows a top-secret world of people programmed with different personalities, abilities and memories depending on their mission. After each assignment -- which can be physical, romantic or even illegal -- the characters have their memories wiped clean, and are sent back to a lab (dubbed the "Dollhouse"). It is Fox. When do we start placing bets on when, exactly, this gets yanked? Anyone want after two episodes?

Director Terry Gilliam will reteam with his Brothers Grimm star Heath Ledger on The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus for Samuel Hadida's Davis Film.

Simon Wincer has signed on to direct The Holy Road -- a sequel to Dances With Wolves -- for Moonstone, Amicus Entertainment and Double Eagle Films.

Variety reports that NBC is putting the kibosh on "Heroes: Origins" -- and the possibility of a strike contributed to the decision.

July 25, 2008 is when you should expect the second X-Files movie. Mmmmmm. Gillian Anderson.

Yeah, I'm upset about Heroes: Origins, but I understand why they're doing it. The writer's strike and the ratings (though I seriously disagree that Heroes is worse this season, I think it's better) haven't left them much choice. I just hope the strike doesn't last too long and cost Heroes (and other good shows) a chance of renewal.
