IESB.net has discovered that among the plot points in Justin Marks’ new “He-Man” script is a whopping change of locale for the blonde boy’s homeland. Yes. He's on Earth now.

Can we say stupid?

There are casting sides out for 8 antagonists for the Justice League movie - 3 women and 5 men. If you were making a Legion of Doom and you were filling out 3 women and 5 men, who would you pick?

There are some serious rumours about the Goonies getting life again - likley in some sort of animated form, though. We'll see how that goes. This goes in that same area as "Lost Boys 2". Seriously. Can we come up with something more interesting?

The Magnum PI movie is rolling again. This time with Nic Cage as being Magnum. Everyone from Matthew McConaughey to Ben Affleck has been rumored to be up for the part. This is really one of those on again off again projects. Unless they wise up and bring back Selleck or somehow talk George Clooney into doing it, the best thing that could happen to this project is a quick death.

Here is the trailer for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Beware the article, there are spoilers in it. Just click on the pretty movie pictures. I know I'm looking forward to it but it is another movie that isn't for everyone.

Legion of Doom eh?

Males:
1. Sinestro: He's badass
2. Brainiac: The bad guy version of Data.
3. Solomon Grundy: The bruiser
4. Toyman: Comedic Relief
5. Lex Luthor: Leader

Females:
1. Cheetah
2. Giganta
uh...originally they were the only women.
3. Poison Ivy

It might not be the Legion of Doom but... C'mon.

Luthor - as a leader

The Joker - one of few well known Batman villains that can provide a threat to the whole League

Sinestro - especially after the whole Sinestro Corp story

Bizarro - providing they don't overdo the whole "Me say 'Hello' because me am leaving" thing

One of the Flash rogues, either Captain Cold, Heatwave, or Mirror Master. They all have enough of a visual hook to do well in a spectacular.

Women are harder as there are so few and both of the Legion of Doom members were kind of stupid

Poison Ivy is a must

Star Sapphire could be cool, providing they don't overdo her back story

For the third, make up a new character, as I'm stumped. Ok, maybe use Giganta.

You could do Killer Frost or Livewire.

I'd be up for Mirror Master, though Captain Cold is always fun.

Oooh, I had forgotten about Killer Frost. In that case, Captain Cold is out and the JLA needs Firestorm (yeah right, but I can dream).

GL and Firestorm really are the ultimate CGI era superheroes.

Hey, at least I didn't suggest Captain Boomerang.

I'd suggest Circe but she's overkill when you get her to work with others.

If I were to reimagine the Legion

1. Vandal Savage: Leader
2. ToyMan: dark humor - Joker's right out: he's tied up in the Batman movie.
3. Black Adam: Superman's counter
4. Sinestro: All around badass
5. Brainiac: Still quite an interesting character.

6. Talia al Ghul: Ninja!
7. Killer Frost: Flash's opposite number - would be visually appealing.
8. Circe: Wonder Woman's counter

Eclipso? Dunno if she'd be much of a team player though.

One of the Flash rogues, either Captain Cold, Heatwave, or Mirror Master. They all have enough of a visual hook to do well in a spectacular.

Zoom? I don't think I'd dig a Rogue for a Flash thwart. It'd have to be bigger than that. Maybe Grodd, but I don't know how well mainstream audiences would take a super intelligent/telepathic gorilla.

I'd echo Sinestro from the various comments. Lex feels like a must to me, but the suggestion of Vandal Savage as the leader is intriguing. Definitely couldn't have them both XD The Joker could definitely be interesting (he was in one incarnation of the Injustice Gang). Brainiac sounds good, but I don't know if he's top choice for me (despite being a classic choice). If Green Arrow is on the JLA, I'd vote for Deathstroke. I don't know if I'd put Black Adam on the team unless Captain Marvel was on the JLA. Even so, I don't Black Adam is really enough of a team player to be on the team.

Sadly, I'm just having trouble thinking of A-list candidates for females on this villain supergroup... Talia did come to mind, but I don't know if she'd really do a team-up. I also thought of Circe, but only because she was in the same Injustice Gang incarnation that I thought of when I thought of the Joker. I might second Star Sapphire. Livewire could be good too.

Think of the Rogues not as Flash villains but as characters with that power and they're pretty strong. I always liked the theory that The Flash was really trying to get the Rogues to spend their energy making stupid traps for him because he was terrified about what they could do if they decided to really use their powers. Anyone who can control major parts of the weather is pretty powerful.

Vandal Savage might be too complicated to explain in a team movie.

Talia never felt like the villain to me, just the daughter. As for Livewire, she's too modern for me to have thought of her (like how I forgot Eclipso was female these days...)

Well, the Rogues are called the Rogues because they're the Flash's rogues gallery, or his group of recurring villains specific to him, perhaps being of nemesis status. So really, they're Flash villains by definition. I've never heard of that theory you mentioned, that's interesting. I've only been a flash reader since around issue 100, so perhaps that's beyond my scope. I always got the sense Flash didn't have to worry about them getting megalomaniacal because for the most part they're crooks, and their scope isn't much bigger than the next big score. Or not even so much that he didn't "have to worry", but just that something of that scale was beyond what The Rogues would do. Zoom is bigger 'cause he's really the big Flash nemesis and Grodd *is* on that megalomaniacal level.

Livewire is pretty modern, especially considering she was one of the characters that started in the Superman animated series and was so popular, she migrated to the comics universe. And Eclipso being female is even more recent than that XD (only the last few years) If I was at home I could look through my JLA comics and get a bit more inspiration for who I might like as Legion of Doom members.

This time with Nic Cage as being Magnum.

Oh my God. What an incredibly bad idea. Why don't they just cast Tom Sellack? He's still far more attractive and if they want to go for the older leading man (because sorry, Nic Cage is no spring chicken anymore)...

Tom has said he didn't want to have anything to do with it. Recently he said he'd cameo in it, if he had script approval.

...Nic Cage as Magnum.

No.

No, no, no. As bad an idea as Tim Burton wanting him for Clark Kent.

No, no, no.

1. Inque
2. Knockout
3. Ursa
4. Mister Melmoth
5. Damian Wayne (near Batman 666 style)
6. Black Adam
7. The Shade
8. A Reach Agent, with "normal" Blue Beetle armor.
From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
*laughs*

Dude, you're seriously jumping around. I like some of them lots, though. Knockout and The Shade on the same team would be fantastic.
