The BBC is giving “Doctor Who” a rest for a bit.

The 13-episode fourth season began shooting last month and will hit the BBC in spring 2008. In 2009 there will be three “specials” by Russell Davies. Season five (or 31), presumably comprised of 13 episodes, will hit the BBC in 2010.

And, well, this is likely a bit more toward the fanciful side of history but it damned well looks pretty - http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/elizabeththegoldenage/large.html

I believe the BBC is also working on the Doctor Who spin-off "Torchwood" as well. So, yay!!

I have to agree that the suit of armor is a bit Joan of Arc but it looks really pretty. Thanks for posting it.

Considering there was just that lame Fox special between 1987 and the new series, I can handle a reduced load in 2009. I hope that encourages Tennant to stay through 2010; [livejournal.com profile] desertgirlva thinks he's hot so she wants to watch Doctor Who with me now.

I heard about this on the radio today - they're letting David have some time off to play Hamlet *is impressed*

Wonder if I'll get the chance to go see him...
