Constantin Film has hired Soenke Wortmann to direct the big screen adaptation of Donna Woolfolk Cross' 1997 medieval bestseller Pope Joan, after sacking helmer Volker Schloendorff last month, says Variety.

I know. I know. No one cares but me.

(And the book was okay, really. Joan is... Well. Even if she existsed they did a really good job of erasing her but if she never did, she is an amazingly persistent myth.)

I just like that directors have been sacked. :D SACK SACK SACK!

*ahem*

Sounds like it'll be a decent movie at least. I hope they have really, really ostentatious costumes and lots of dabbings of oil and ring-kissing, that's what Catholicism is for.

I think it would be a cool movie to see... I know I want to read the book, I'm just a million books behind.

Well, yes. I have read most every book in the Seattle public library on the subject.
