NBC cancelled "Crossing Jordan" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." "Friday Night Lights" was renewed. "Heroes" is obviously renewed but they're all so adding some filler or as they're saying 'a spin off' but it isn't really a spin off. The new filler thingy will introduce a new character each week, and viewers will select which one stays for the following season. The two series will have 30 new episodes combined.

New series "Journeyman" is about a San Francisco newspaper reporter who travels through time to alter people's lives. Sounds like "Quantum Leap" to me. "Chuck" is a thriller about a computer geek who becomes a government agent after spy secrets are embedded in his brain. Uh-huh.

NBC is also launching their remake of "The Bionic Woman".

"The Journyman" got my attention because Kevin McKidd was grade-A awesome as Lucius Vorenus on "Rome."

We'll see when they announce what they're keeping and dropping. My fingers are extremely crossed on Veronica Mars.

Huh? Are they expecting Heroes to do badly? Why would you use a stupid gimmick like this if the franchise (such as it apparently is) is doing well?

The show did worse after the mid-season break. They don't want the fall off they saw this year to happen again next year, so, they're planning this 'spin-off' called Heroes: Origins, to fill in the mid-season gap.

I'm not thrilled with that idea, though I am thrilled with what I'm hearing about the general plot direction for the show next year.

"Journeyman" sounds like what you get when you cross-breed "Quantum Leap" with CBS' primetime series "Early Edition".

The Bionic Woman thing had me worried, but it looks like some of the folks who redid Battlestar are behind it, so it might turn out good (the sucktastic Kolchak remake always has me worried about these kinds of things).

The actress involved says they are going for a more realistic take with personal drama mixed in with the bionic spy stuff. I guess that means no more sasquatch or fembots.

Yeah, and most likely a cliffhanger ending. They just gave Matthew Perry a pill-popping habit. Not a plot that's easily resolved.

Dammit.
