Hrrmmmm. Movie time!
Mar. 22nd, 2007 12:21 pmDay Watch is going to be released in the US on June 1st! The trailer finally made it out as well. No work, yet, on Dusk Watch happening in Russia but it seems to take about a year for the films to make their way here after they're released in Russia... And, yes, apparently this whole thing was started by magic chalk. A lot of that stuff going around in movies these days.... (BTW, Mike? HERE is an example of how to show people driving on buildings.)
SCI FI Channel is making a "Tin Man" (working title) miniseries about the Tin Man from Thw Wizard of Oz. The cas is composed ofZooey Deschanel, Alan Cumming, Richard Dreyfuss, Neal McDonough, Kathleen Robertson and Raoul Trujillo. Production on is slated to begin in Vancouver later this month with an eye toward a December premiere.
The Hollywood Reporter says SCI FI Channel will air a two-hour "Battlestar Galactica" episode in the fall that will bridge the gap between the current third season and the fourth season slated to begin in January. Rumors have it that this episode will be about Pegasus and how they got to where we joined up with them. The fourth season has also been grown from 13 episodes to 22.
Imagi Studios (maker of the new TMNT) has revealed new concept artwork for the company's upcoming CG-animated Gatchaman and Astro Boy on its official website.
28 Weeks Later comes out on May 11th. The first 28 minutes were shown to a lot of reviewers recently and people are pretty happy with it, apparently. I'm going to have to make a calendar of 'things that need to be seen'. Good idea, Sean. May is going to be a hell of a mess.
Jet Li is going to be the bad guy in The Mummy 3.
"Brothers & Sisters," "Ugly Betty," "Men in Trees," "The Bachelor," "Boston Legal," "Dancing with the Stars," "Desperate Housewives," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Grey's Anatomy," "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "Lost" are all back for 2007-2008.
Lucas is starting to talk about Star Wars on TV. Yoda looks pretty cool for the animated stuff, which will come first. They haven't even really started on the live action things. It is so vague right now that any details are ... well.. not even really details.

Date: 2007-03-22 09:10 pm (UTC)It's hard to describe *why* the subtitles were so awesome without giving away too much of the plot. But still, that was the first time I've seen someone really USE subtitles to enhance a film instead of just plastering them across the bottom of the screen. This director kicks ass.

Date: 2007-03-23 06:18 pm (UTC)I was disappointed to discover that the DVD version removed those subtitle effects from the film... but at least I have the memories of having seen it in the theatre!
