This just saved my day from suck.
Except I will note that there were no ThunderCats in the 80s montage. Hello? Mum-Ra the Everliving must be mentioned.
......
I'ma go back in my little geek hole now.
Edit:
I can't. There are some critical misses in that 80s montage.
Thundercats
Jem and the Holograms
The thankfully short Rainbow Brite (The long version makes me want to claw my ears off.)
Stawberry Shortcake
Silverhawks
Galaxy Rangers
Robotech (Yes, Macross, yaddah, yaddah, I know.)
And last but certainly not least MASK
There. I'm done now. Maybe.

Same with She-ra.
Ahh plot, how I miss thee.

Date: 2007-03-03 12:52 am (UTC)Oh god I forgot about Captain N.
Mother brain *ouch*
Damn, I don't remember that happening in 1994. Did I miss the rogue planet? Can I get a lightsaber if I'm a barbarian?
I loved Beetlejuice :P
Lou Scheimer must be god damn rich.
now on to the 90's
I miss animaniacs. And Tiny toons. Their songs were the best.
They're also missing a lot of the USA cartoons (Mysterious Cities of gold, for one... and a ton I'm too young to remember the names of)
Samurai pizza cats? WTF.
Sonic the Hedgehog is big on classical music?
I actually hated the Sonic games...
Futurama, but no Simpsons?
Also, look at the credits of this guy... Clancy Brown http://imdb.com/name/nm0000317/ Highlander, Starship Troopers, Voltron, Gargoyles, Shawshank Redemption, Superman, Justice League.. this guy is all over the place :P

manga12 (6 days ago)
That is correct it came out two weeks ago the movie on dvd, and there will be multipal stright to dvd relice parts to the new series
then maybe we will see it on tv, I just hope it is not edited too much if they show it on tv.
I did not learn about robotech till almost when battelcry was reliced
I got curious and now I am hooked, but the romance music depresses me as I have no luck with the girls.
reliced?
sentanls?
My brain hurts.

Date: 2007-03-03 01:08 am (UTC)I was wondering about the Simpsons too...
I wasn't big on Sonic, either. I don't remember the games being big on music like that.
And yeah... I don't remember that happening in 94, either...

Date: 2007-03-03 03:50 am (UTC)The animation for the opening for The Real Ghostbusters is a lot better than I remembered.
I still have to watch my DVDs of Danger Mouse ^^;; I was a lil' sad to find out that they used the original British dub track on the DVD release, where Stilleto has an Italian accent rather than the Cockney accent he had on the US broadcast.
When the SMB opening started, I yelled out, "Oh god, somebody kill me now."
2 things I had totally forgotten about the Zelda show. When Link said, "Anything for you, Princess," I remembered what a total n00b he was. And then, THE LINE.
"Well, excuuuuuse ME, Princess."
Oh god.
Thundarr the Barbarian must be where my interested in post-apocalyptic settings came from.
3 that they missed for me for the 80s were Spartacus, Seven Cities of Gold and Galtar and the Golden Lance (wielded a double bladed sword WAAAAAY before Darth Maul). Wait, memory banks searching... Mr. T. Belle and Sebastian (this is the Arabic OP, I couldn't find the US one. Searching for Belle and Sebastian gets way more hits on the band). The Little Prince.
Off your extended list, I also watched Thundercats, Jem and Galaxy Rangers. I'm not actually sure if I watched Robotech when I was young. I never actually followed Silverhawks, though I was familiar with it.
I don't think there's much more for me to say about 90s cartoons. Early on in the 90s is when I started getting into anime, so I didn't pay as much attention to US animation at that point. That is not to say I didn't watch any of the shows in the clip ^_^ I watched a lot of them. The clip from The Critic I still remember was when Jay's sister was getting fit for her wedding dress and the tailor asked her exactly what shade of white the dress should be made of, regular white or "hussy" white. To which she replied, "Regular white... except for the gloves." Totally not a kid's cartoon XD Interesting that there are several cartoons in the 90s clip that are definetely not kids shows. Like The Maxx and The Critic.
Dammit, no DVDs of the former :/
The OP to The Batman Animated Series just made me hard. That needs to get bumped up on my queue. Same with Superman.
Hey, they're missing The Head (couldn't find a clip of the OP). Oh, and now that I'm thinking MTV, there was Aeon Flux. And Liquid Television, the shorts collection Aeon Flux originally debuted on.
Hmm, the Futurama OP just made me realize The Simpsons was nowhere to be found in the 80s toon list. Weird.
Dear god, they made a Back to the Future cartoon? O_o
Oh man, I'd love to watch Dragon Warrior again, I remember being really sad that I hardly ever caught any eps :/ (it was on Sunday mornings when we went to church ^^;;) Man, that was totally the age where I began to become a geek. Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy, Shadowrun, MERP... wow.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane *wistful sigh*
