Now, you see, /this/ was the show I've wanted since the begining.

Some stuff I hadn't predicted, some surprise. Some real emotional grip...

Thank you.

Keep it up.

Yes.

The first episode I actively liked.

It's funny, I was just saying to Kris that that episode wouldn't have been nearly as interesting without the backstory behind it to get you invested in the characters.

It was an excellent epsiode, but only due to the strength of the foundation the writers have created.

You do have a point there but I think it took far too long to get there. Most of the backstory you needed for that episode could have been made in five or six episodes. You'd have to have cut out crazy lady and her family but I really don't see that as a loss at all.

Neither does anyone else. ;)

Seriously though, I disagree. I think that the Mojinder/Sylar thing that they're promising next week is going to be another dose of amazing payoff.

I also think that Linderman is going to be played by Donald Sutherland, but I'll just have to wait and see.

One thing I enjoy about this story is the way the story flows. I think that dramatic tension has been an underplayed element. I get impatient for the payoff, too, but I find I care about the characters a lot from getting glimpses of their 'normal' lives.

Except Nikki, but everyone agrees she's the plotline dead weight.

In fact, it really seems to flow less like a TV show and more like a game. I don't know about you, but I like intensive character development storylines almost better than the actiony bits, when I'm playing.

See, even for a game for me, this seems crazy slow paced. I love my character development. I'm more about character than I am plot but for me, it only seems that in the last two or three episodes have I really seen a lot. Claire's kicked it up, Hiro is learning the hard lessons of being a hero, Peter's stopped being whiney all of the time...

Really, I've only, up until now, cared about Clare and Hiro. And I still really don't care about Mohinder or the Patrelli's much... or the painter or Nikki..... I want to smack him upside the head some but, hey... (And not just because of the Sylar stuff. The character does little for me at this point. Maybe that'll change.)

I love me my character development but it feels to me where the last three episodes are the ones where any of it really started happening. It just happened to coordinate with the action picking up as well. The first glimpse of it was Claire for prom queen but that was mostly Zack, a character who has been yanked all over the place with rewrites due to the 'gay conraversy'. Meh.

I can't believe you even brought up the "gay controversy."

The character was WAY too underdeveloped to have something like sexual orientation be a factor in his storyline. I think that was about 95% speculation, based on a rumor from someone who brings the writers coffee.

I mean, when Tara was shot, lesbians all over the place got up in arms at Joss for "punishing her for being a lesbian." Rather than letting it be about turning Willow to the darkside.

Don't let meta-gaming kill your enjoyment of the show!

*shrugs* I see it how I see it.

I haven't been satisfied with an episode until the last two. There were glimmers of what I wanted the show to be before then but I haven't been enamored of it.

Fair enough.

Well, I'm really glad that you've liked the last 2 eps. I think that they have been the strongest to date, that the show is really hitting it's stride.

I hope that they keep up with the quality work.
