A blinking yellow?

Means proceed with caution.

It does NOT mean sit around and stare at the light in confusion.

Thanks.

Dear Kat,

We are creatures of habit. Therefore if something changes, it confuses our tiny monkey minds, and we have to sit there hooting and scratching.

Bat-apologies.

Love,
Seattle

Walking to work, the Denny and Bellevue intersection had everyone confused. Those on Denny had a blinking yellow and those on Bellevue had a blinking red light.

Talk about an adventure: drivers on Denny were trying to dodge drivers on Bellevue who were (a) getting tired of waiting for a break in the traffic so they could go, or (b) getting pissed, not realizing that Denny had a yellow and assuming people on Denny were blowing thru the 4-way stop.

Yeah, nothing like dodging angry drivers on the way into work. Who needs coffee after that?

Woooooooooo!

Yeah. This is supposed to make people more cautious about driving in the .... er.. snow we didn't really get last night.

Snow? yeahright...

What a let-down that was; the whole "non-storm" that didn't actually hit us last night...

First, there's "Vapor-ware", now we have "Vapor-weather." Good stuff, eh? ;-)

You can have the 2+ inches of snow I have at my house in Maple Valley if you'd like.

Oh, I don't want the snow, itself - I just want the day off work ;-)

Lucky you. Even if I had 2 ft of snow I'd be expected to attempt to get to the office.

Oh, I'm expected to "make the attempt", too...but, some attempts aren't all that successful...I'm just sayin' ;-)

Sadly, my boss lives only a few miles from where I do and I'm responsible for pretty much 90% of the work that goes on here so I'd best be hauling my sorry tail to work.

Though with the last snow storm we had, I made my boss drive. He had to come pick me up from home and take me home after work.

Wow, I don't think I could deal with the much responsibility; such are the joys of "temping"...or, in my company, the joys of the "Sunset Position" (which, sadly, is not nearly as erotic as it sounds...)

*snickers* I love Seattle drivers. The ultimate in "huhwha?"

Behind them in a close second is: California drivers right after it's rained.

Yeah, though the question remains, why the hell were they blinking? My first thought driving down denny was, "woah, did they lose power?"

Then I realized that was the dumbest question ever.

Nope. The City of Seattle thought it would make people mroe cautious. You know... for all of the... er... snow....

You should be grateful that they didn't take it to mean "continue at top speed".

I love Seattle, I am glad I mocved her, I think this is a great area and I love the people and the enrgy here.

That being said, Seattle drivers are some of the worst drivers on Earth. Seattle drivers can't drive in weather, they can't even drive in the rain and it rains all the time, so you can just forget about it when it snows.

Seattle drivers don't know which lane to be in if they are going fast or slow.

Seattle drivers don't know what any traffic signal or sign means except for the basics.

Seattle drivers don't know what to do when a flashing light is behind them. How anyone makes it to the hospital in an ambulance without dying first around here is beyond me.

Personally, I think it is an act that Seattle puts on to make all the transplants move back to California and New York because the city is starting to get too crowded. Nobody can possibly really be that clueless.
