I'm a bit concerned that he's cool with not having read the source materiel (the comics) outside of the copy of Killing Joke he was given. X3 proved how important it is to 'get' the characters (and how winging it can be a disaster)
I'm not too worried about it, really. I have faith in the writers and I don't want him to be too fanatical about things. It can go both ways. There are some comic book movies that have been made by people who had read alot of source material and they still sucked.
"The Killing Joke was the one that was handed to me"
Perfect prep material. An actor needn’t be a fan of the medium to pull out a wonderful performance. Patrick Stewart doesn’t strike me as the type of person that gets giddy on Comic Wednesdays, yet he kicked much arse in the X series. Based on Nolan’s track record from his pervious flicks, this movie should be entertaining.
