Party? Yeah. It was good. It is distinctly different being sober at one of my parties, I must say. Interesting but fun in a different way.

Anyway... Movie things.

Ahmet Zappa is writing a Fraggle Rock movie. "I'm very excited to be working with The Jim Henson Company on this project," said Ahmet Zappa. "So much of my childhood was spent watching 'Fraggle Rock' ... I never missed an episode! I'm also really looking forward to using music to tell the story; it played such a central role in the original series and truly helped create the 'Fraggle Rock' that we know and love today."

Universal and Fox have both pulled out from the Halo movie. Microsoft has this to say - "We are disappointed that Universal and Fox wanted to significantly renegotiate the financial points of the deal. But the Halo franchise is hugely popular and our goal remains the same - to find a partner that shares our passion and will creatively collaborate with us to best represent the story and spirit of the Halo franchise. Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and the rest of the creative team are dedicated to ensuring the Halo movie becomes a reality. We are already in discussions with potential partners who recognize the value of the Halo brand and its appeal to consumers worldwide."

Translation: We're disappointed that Universal and Fox wanted to only give their left nuts and not their right ones. But the Halo franchise is a cash cow and we want to find someone who is willing to pay us both nuts so we can reap the financial rewards and milk this cash cow dry.

Fox and Universal see: All game movies ever made have not been profitable at the box office. Of the ones that have recouped their expenses it has taken many years.

Halo = Game Movie. $200 million = un-recoupable = Microsoft thinks Fox and Universal are "Not For Profit" companies.
