1 - I seem to have misplaced my suit jacket. This is annoying.

2 - The traffic circle outside my appartment has seen some interesting things over the past few days. This has lead Dan Savage to comment on it on The Stranger's blog, affectionately refered to as the Slog. (That post is the last in a line of them.) The traffic circle has seen computer monitors, laptops and any number of other things. This morning it had three tires and an empty computer monitor. The tires were labled "Dan Savage Memorial Sculpture Park" and the empty monitor case was spray painted red having rules written on the top in sharpie. It stated that it was a sculpture park and additions to the park were welcome as long as they weren't harmful to the environment and "don't suck". I am amused by this.

3 - “Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able,” says Pitt in an Esquire profile hitting newsstands on Sept. 19.

4 - I know what today is, of course. Who in this country could not? I find it sort of ironic that five years later I'm working in one of the buildings which was supposedly on a list of targets. I remember for months after the buildings fell that anytime I left Seattle, I would look for this building in the skyline when I came back. I had this creeping sense of horror that I would come back and the it wouldn't be there, the the skyline of this city that I love would be changed - there would be a hole in it. Five years later and there is no memorial and we're living in a world with more fear instead of less. I still wish that we could have done something more productive with the sense of unity that came in the month or so after. We could have changed the world for the better if we'd wanted. I feel a profound sense of loss at that. Sometimes it still makes me angry. I don't know what else to say about it.

You may want to clean up that slog link.

Find your jacket.

I doubt Angie and Bradd will change much with this, but it's an interesting statement.

Today is my mother's birthday.

Don't forget tomorrow.

Cleaned up! (Did you get the pictures I sent you from my phone?)

I think it might be in Michigan. I can't find it in my apartment. Or it could have been eaten by jacket gnomes.

I have to celebrate celebrity being used to for positive change - or at least the attempt.

Happy birthday to your mother.

Should I wear special shoes or anything?

No, I haven't seen any pictures-from-telepohone.

Well, you could always call your parents and ask if they have seen it...

Yes, I have to give Angelina credit for social consciousness (or Kyna will kill me).

We got together to celbrate yesterday. We brought a cake from Borracchini's. Yum.

Wear something comfortable, preferably something you can slide a little in. Suede or leather soles are ideal. I've been bringing my old ROTC "marching shoes".

Somehow I doubt they *intend* to inact change simply with a statement like that, but it certainly is a bold way to show your stance on the subject.

Man, I was wondering what the hell was up with those monitors. I kind of liked the way they were placed, all facing attentively inwards, as though waiting for their Hive Queen to be beamed down from on high.
