Cool... (And Movies)
Aug. 17th, 2006 10:19 amBBSs and text based gaming are getting documentaries.
Tim Burton will be direct (who else?) Johnny Depp in a film version of Sweeny Todd, looking to hit screens in the winter of 2007.
The FF2 title has been officially changed to Fantastic Four: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER! It looks like Doom will be involved as well.
It seems that the sequel to Batman Begins is currently titled The Dark Knight, which I'm happy with. Interesting talk about casting on this movie. Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin? That would be excellent. We'll see if it happens. They're planning on starting to shoot in March and the movie has a targeted release of summer 2008.
Looks liked the guy from Prison Break might well be The Hulk in the remake. Of course nothing is signed yet.
This film of Hairspray is pulling in all sorts of people and now it has WALKEN!
Tomorrow morning at 11:00am PST Yahoo! will be hosting a live webcast with Transformers writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, where they will be announcing the names of the robots that will appear in the film.
Here is Samuel L. Jackson - "I see Avi Arad a lot, because we live in the same neighborhood," Jackson said. "I express my interest. I always wanted to be Iron Man, because he was always like the rich dude who created this whole thing. He's not really kept as a superhero, he just creates stuff to make himself a superhero as a rich guy." "Nick Fury would be great," Jackson said of the hard-boiled S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. "I've been reading Nick Fury since when I was a kid. I collect comics. ... I'm kind of geeky." And oddly a Nck Fury movie is being written RIGHT NOW!
Marvel has put THE AVENGERS up on their slate of movies. We're looking at a target date of after Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. (If any of you are surprised by that c'mere and lemme smack you some.)
Lauren Shuler Donner on X-men 4: The newer cast members are signed. The older ones are not. (AKA Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Romijn, Famke Janssen and Anna Paquin) LOTS OF MONEY would be involved. So right now we're concentrating on Wolverine and the younger Magneto movie. Hugh Jackman isn't available to start filming until the end of the year, though because he's doing something with Baz Luhrmann and Nicole Kidman at the moment.
And AVP2 is starting filming soon. Wheee.
I think that's it for right this moment.
