The touch!
Aug. 16th, 2006 08:43 amSeriously, there is a part where Optimus Prime is all bad ass and flying through the air and shooting things and it makes me giddy and yet sniffly all at the SAME TIME.
I am such a geek.
I need a Transformer icon of some sort.

I LOVE YOU OPTIMUS!!!!

I still use my NES, and love Legend of Zelda, but they're crap.
Let's not even get into the music thing ...

Date: 2006-08-17 01:42 am (UTC)Optimus Prime is my goddamned hero.
I cried when he died. I flipped out when he came back.
I was in college, looking through some old folders of stuff I did in junior high. It included an enlarged photocopy of Optimus Prime from the Transformers Universe comics, which I'd colored in (color copies? HAH, 80s). Standing there, just looking all heroic.
I taped it to the front of my dorm room door.
I would come home after a long, arduous day, and I'd have Optimus Prime, standing there looking down at me.
"There is good in the world. Never forget it." He seemed to say.
Often a good pick-me-up.
So much so that he was the only thing I'd ever considered getting as a tattoo.

Date: 2006-08-17 01:47 am (UTC)Screw that.
I love a well done sociopath. I love a great bad guy. I really love well done evil, I always have. (Not hand puppet evil, that sucks.)
However, there is something about a hero, a good hero that cannot be replaced in anyway. It just can't. Optimus Prime was one of thsoe guys that you could believe in. He was one of those heroes that WAS ACTUALLY A HERO. You know? He wasn't just the leader or that guy who happens to be there. Or the greatest cliche these days - the reluctant hero, that whiney guy who doesn't really want all of this power and responsbility.
Fuck that.
I want more heroes like Optimus.
