Okay. I have a bunch of bottles that I either don't wear anymore or haven't ever really worn. Most of these smell great in the bottle but awful on me and are full but for the testing. I'm giving all of you folks who read my LJ a shot at them first. I'm open for trades or sales or something else. Make me an offer if you want something.

Fearful Pleasure
Lick It One More Time
Tokyo Stomp
Phoenix Steamworks
Te Po
Tiki Queen
Upa Upa

And if anyone has a bottle of Huesos De Santo or knows where to find one, I've noticed I've stopped wearing this one out of fear that some day it'll go away.

I need a bottle of Sachs.

So, I guess it is that time again.

There are also Halloween scents up but there isn't a ton of stuff that I MUST get, thank goodness.

I have a few bottles I don't wear at all, so I thought I'd give you, o people of my friend's page, a crack at them first. If you're interested, we can find a price or make a trade or something. Most of these are pretty close to full.

Le Serpent Qui Danse
Pumpkin Patch #5 from 2007
Enraged Groundhog Musk
White Rabbit
Diary of a Lovestruck Teenage Cannibal
The Star - which is a 10ml bottle about half full

There are a few others I might be interested in parting with - Haloes and Wezwanie Hold don't do much for me either but Ariel went to great pains to get them for me. It seems I should attempt something with them. I can't find my bottle of Mad Kate and that is annoying me.

And Jane, dear, I still have lots of stuff for you. Dinner some time?

So, I'm ready to order this.

All of you who are going to send me money for this, please PayPal it to me. (Or, if you're on Amazon Payments, that'll work too.) I'm hoping to get this going in the next week or so. Please send over the cash when you can.

YEAH! Snakes and Ladies!
"The long-awaited Snow, Glass, Apples perfume will be making its debut at San Diego Comic Con! The SGA package includes Neil Gaiman’s short story in chapbook format, beautifully illustrated by Julie Dillon, and a 5ml bottle of perfume inspired by the tale. This set is a limited run of 1000. 250 will be sold by CBLDF at Comic Con 2008, and the remainder will go on sale July 30, 2008 on the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab web site and will be available as long as supplies last. All proceeds from this project go to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund!" - Guess where I'm going on Preview Night? Oh yes. IT WILL BE MINE.

Also, for Snakes and Ladies, currently I have a total of $300 pledged out of $520. That's already including $80 of my own dollars. While I do want to smell these, it isn't worth $300 to me to do so. So, anyone else interested, e-mail me. If it comes down to it, it looks like there is generally more interest in the snakes but the split is pretty close to even on the money side.

Any ideas? I'm open to hearing them.

I'm looking at ordering these in the begining of July. At the moment, I'm looking at people telling me how much they're willing to commit to the order /and/ which bottles they're most interested in. Each bottle is $20, so each $20 commited = a full bottle going home with you. With bottles that have multiple people interested in, we can decant (as I'm pretty sure will happen with Boomslang.) In that case, we can figure out how to break that down as I'm sure there will be bottles that won't have people attached to them. Also, if there is anything else you want ordered at the same time, let me know and I'll happily add it to the order. All the better chances for imps of fun and neat free things.

This will lead to a dinner and sniffing party! We will gather together to sniff everything and eat food and perhaps have some wine and certainly chocolate. Knowing the time line of how this works, it sounds like we'll be looking at late July or early August.

The list once again... )
So. I have this crazy wacked out dream.

I want to order all of the Snakes in the Snake Pit and all of the Ladies in the Ladies of the Grindhouse.

This is a LOT of BPAL and certainly not all of it will smell good on me and I'm not interested in some of it, either.

Would people be willing to order and split the thing? We could work out a way for people to claim or split certain bottles.
More details this way )

BPAL people. I have the following that I don't really want:

The Star
Black Lace
Diary of an Lovestruck Teenage Cannibal
Enraged Groundhog Musk
Gingerbread Poppet - 2007
The Haunted Palace
Madame Moriarity
Pumpkin #5 - 2007

Anyone interested in any of these before I offer them up to... somewhere?

And no, Prairie and Rach and other people who I promised to send things to, I haven't forgotten. I've just been lame about getting them sent out. It is on my list to do this weekend.

I also want to place an order for the Tiki smells. I'm pretty much interested in anything with rum in it but there are some I'm more likely to order than others. The ones that are really tempting are below.

Jamaican rum, almond liquor, orange water, sugar syrup, lime peel, black cherry, vodka, and mint.
Spiced rum, coconut, pineapple, and vanilla.
Ginger blossom and vanilla orchid.
Bamboo reed, palm frond, and hibiscus.
And this - http://www.blackphoenixtradingpost.com/psteampreview.html
... but I'll probably sleep more at Con than I have been at home.

Last night I had dreams of traveling Europe with Mike trying to get in touch with Kristen Bell for an interview. We were in Amsterdam and she was going to fly us up to London... It was really rather surreal.

There is a new BPAL update. This one is the Atomic Tiki Lounge. There are some I'm looking at with interest. There are also a few bottles I have that I'm likely going to trade or sell as they're great smells, I just don't wear them at all and they should go to someone who loves them. These tempt me:

Golden rum, apricot liquor, pineapple, pomegranate, ginger, brandy, grapefruit, and pink lime.

Jamaican rum, almond liquor, orange water, sugar syrup, lime peel, black cherry, vodka, and mint.

Spiced rum, coconut, pineapple, and vanilla.

Next month is a Steampunk BPAL Update. That could be interesting, certainly. I love the shirt for it and I'm not even usually a fan of gold. http://www.blackphoenixtradingpost.com/teezoom-phoenixsteamtee.html - Though I guess it is a bit more bronze than gold.

And I really, really need to wake up shortly. That would be great.
BPAL wishlist updated.

And now.... I hope to update my hair.

Maybe. If I can break out of the funk that seems to have grabbed me today.

This will go to show how stupidly addicted I am to my new obession but is anyone out there anywhere near any of these stores?

Le Pink & Co.
3820 W. Sunset Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90026

Nail Polish Etc.
1140 Cocoa Ave
Hershey, PA 17033

Whole Foods Market
aka Harry's Farmer's Market
1180 Upper Hembree Rd.
Roswell, GA

If you aren't too far from one of these, might you be willing to go to one of these places and buy some things for me? (Not all of those scents, of course.) I'd cover gas money, shipping and what have you.

Yes, yes. I know. I'm an addict.
Hallo all who might be interested in such a thing.

Saturday at 2 there will be a BPAL sniffy time. Bring things you want to trade, bring things you want other people to sniff... Just bring what you have and we'll party on down. We can order in food or make something or we'll figure it out dinner possibilities.

Lemme know who wants to participate!

So far we have Holly, Kris and possibly Sunni.
On December 14 the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight will be released with I Am Legend. It will already be showing the 7-minute opening scene of "Dark Knight" before the screenings of "Legend" in IMAX.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull's first trailer is planned for a debut in February. Paramount's biggest film in February is The Spiderwick Chronicles. Hrmmmm. That doesn't seem like a fit. It is possible Paramount will decide to debut footage earlier during the Super Bowl - that seems a bit more fitting.

JJ Abrams is keeping it in the family, as it were because the first Star Trek trailer is planning a debut with Cloverfield on January 18, 2008. It will likely be short. They haven't been filming that long.

Kris, Holly and I received our BPAL order. YEAH! So far:
Lick It One More Time: I smell like a candy cane! YEAH!!!
Gingerbread Poppet: In the bottle it is overwhelming and unpleasant. On me it is lovely. Another win.
Egg Nog: In the bottle it smells like alcohol doom. On me it doesn't smell like much and fades really, really fast. Sad.
Kill-Devil: In the bottle I have no idea what this really smells like. On my skin it smells like an oak plank that has been soaking in honey for a few years. I like it.
El Dia Del Reyes: In the bottle it smells like the best cinnamon, chocolate coffee... On me it smells sort of musty and cinnamon-y... except if the cinnamon were still on the tree. I'm going to give it another chance but.. Meh.

As for the frimps: Bliss - It makes me smell like a brownie! Woooo! I think I want more.
Midnight Kiss: A dark musky, tobacco chocolate smell. Not sure if I like it or not. It isn't bad but it isn't horrible. Okay to have an imp of, certainly.
First order of the post - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY PIRATE QUEEN LYS! YEAH!!!

The BPAL order should be in late this week or early next week. That means we should have the sniffy party on the first of December. Is that okay with everyone? Edity-edit: How about next Wednesday, the 28th?

Phil Noto is going to be at the Emerald City Comic Con. This makes me very happy. I am hoping to be an actual volunteer at the show this year instead of running around doing volunteer things without being a volunteer. (I like helping people, what can I say? People are stuck at a table all day, sometimes they need some coffee or water or something. And I'm not doing anything vitally important....)

I'm going to stop myself from going off on a rant about how stupid it is that a lot of writers at the Comic Conventions I've been to just sit around with no love but artists... artists have lines that extend to the moon. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE me some comic art but it seems to me that one side here, doesn't live without the other.

Okay. Really stopping now.

Lets101 - Free Online Dating

And in other news, the BPAL order shipped. Woooo!

Tomorrow will be the day of looking at rental properties with Kris. Starting at 10.
Thank God. I was going to go mad there, if I couldn't get in to my e-mail here at work. There is stuff to do! Vendors to yell at. Deals to close, don't you know.

The Daily Show's Writers are cool.

I like Obama.

I will also point you to this year's Customer Votes.

Ghostbusters III looks like it will be a video game.

Persepolis looks really cool. I liked the graphic novel.

Hidden Kingdom has Jet Li and Jackie Chan in it. If that weren't enough for me, it also has a bad ass looking woman with white hair, some nice looking wuxia and interesting cross of Eastern and Western plot elements.

What else, what else? I want my BPAL shipment to ship. So we can have a party with good smelling things. And I can trade stuff with other people and so on and so forth and la la la la.

Want - BPAL

Bewitching Brews
"Rum punch is not improperly called Kill-Devil; for thousands lose their lives by its means. When newcomers use it to the least excess, they expose themselves to imminent peril, for it heats the blood and brings on fevers, which in a very few hours send them to their graves."

Sugar cane, molasses, oak wood, and honey

Envelop yourself in the soft, sensual embrace of gentle sandalwood warmed by cocoa vanilla and a veil of deep myrrh.

Centzon Totochtin
The Four Hundred divine rabbits of the Aztec pantheon that preside over parties and drunkenness. Bittersweet Mexican cocoa with rum, red wine, and a scent redolent of sacrificial blood.

And pretty much anything with vanilla in it, I'd be interested in at least smelling.

And there will apparently bew new Gaiman scents and holiday scents some time this month. *ponders*
