Back from the trenches...
Feb. 3rd, 2006 02:09 pm(Those who do not care about sports may pass this by right now.)
Maybe it is the fact that I work across the street from the stadium but I have never seen this much of Seattle wearing something support for a team. I didn't see it in '95 for the Mariners and I haven't seen it since. It is a neat experience, certainly.
I decided, since I was here, that I'd go over to the team store and see if they had anything cool for the Super Bowl. My only Seahawks gear being possibly from when I was 10. At least the shirt looks that old and certainly smaller than I am now. And I like collecting pins and there should be some for something like this.
Wow. That was a mistake. I was over there for/ever/. It was neat to be surrounded by people who have rock solid faith in the team to win this game. I am not one of those. It isn't that I don't think we can win, I do, it is more than there is no way that I am certain it will happen.
I was hoping to find some Mardi Gras beads to accompany my Red Wings beads. I like having something in my hands, almost like prayer beads. I might well bring my Wings beads anyway since it /is/ in Detroit.
Anyway. It was neat. And yeah, I got some stuff. I like big comfy shirts. I'll probably end up sleeping in this one more than anything else, though. It is huge.

Date: 2006-02-04 05:19 am (UTC)I'm not sure the Seahawks can do it either. But after watching and reading lots of stuff the last few weeks I'm becoming more of a believer. If they can figure out a way to stop the Steelers's blitzes, then it'll be a good game. If not, let's just hope Seattle's defense shows up.

Date: 2006-02-04 01:21 pm (UTC)Seriously, I just want a good game. The Seattle mania reminds me of when the Panthers were in the Super Bowl two years ago. The excitement is contagious. Wanna see something funny? Go on the streets during the game. It'll be weirdly empty out there, I bet.
If the Seahawks win, I'll be happy too.
