(Those who do not care about sports may pass this by right now.)

Maybe it is the fact that I work across the street from the stadium but I have never seen this much of Seattle wearing something support for a team. I didn't see it in '95 for the Mariners and I haven't seen it since. It is a neat experience, certainly.

I decided, since I was here, that I'd go over to the team store and see if they had anything cool for the Super Bowl. My only Seahawks gear being possibly from when I was 10. At least the shirt looks that old and certainly smaller than I am now. And I like collecting pins and there should be some for something like this.

Wow. That was a mistake. I was over there for/ever/. It was neat to be surrounded by people who have rock solid faith in the team to win this game. I am not one of those. It isn't that I don't think we can win, I do, it is more than there is no way that I am certain it will happen.

I was hoping to find some Mardi Gras beads to accompany my Red Wings beads. I like having something in my hands, almost like prayer beads. I might well bring my Wings beads anyway since it /is/ in Detroit.

Anyway. It was neat. And yeah, I got some stuff. I like big comfy shirts. I'll probably end up sleeping in this one more than anything else, though. It is huge.

One of my baseball friends works in one of the team stores in that alley between the stadiums, I forget if it's the official Seahawks store or not. Anyway, he's been putting in crazy hours there these last two weeks, but he says it's awesome... apparently everyone who comes in to buy Super Bowl stuff is crazy happy, so even though it's busy as all hell, it's still fun to be working in a hotbed of football fans.

The rally at Westlake today was huge, too.

Sounds like our office; nearly everyone is in 'Hawks stuff - except for one dude in a Steeler's jersey (brave soul that he is)...

The next time we have a "sports-themed" day here, I swear I'm busting out my Klingon hockey jersey...

Cool. All cool.

I'm excited!

The official team store is there. It might well be that one. I might have seen him over than past few hours. Heh.

I think our sysadmin was wearing a seahawks shirt. He's the only one here wearing any sports swag today.

I just want them to play the game already. The stress is starting to get to me.

Yesterday was our department's Super Bowl potluck - I wore a Tamba Bay Buccaneers jersey. They've been, and they've won, so that should count.

I'm not sure the Seahawks can do it either. But after watching and reading lots of stuff the last few weeks I'm becoming more of a believer. If they can figure out a way to stop the Steelers's blitzes, then it'll be a good game. If not, let's just hope Seattle's defense shows up.

Go Steelers. :)

Seriously, I just want a good game. The Seattle mania reminds me of when the Panthers were in the Super Bowl two years ago. The excitement is contagious. Wanna see something funny? Go on the streets during the game. It'll be weirdly empty out there, I bet.

If the Seahawks win, I'll be happy too.

It was weirdly empty when we were playing the last game. *grins* Even after the game because everyone went down to the stadium.
