Stranger and stranger...
Jul. 29th, 2005 08:34 amSo, I'd mentioned here that I'd met a guy through work who grew up where my Dad is from. (Well, he grew up in Houghton but that's pretty close.) Last night his company took my department out to a Mariner's game. We were hanging out and chatting and the topic comes up and he asks me:
"Hey, do you know the Sportsman's Club?"
I look at him and say, "Yeah." Because pretty much every family reuinion I can remember has had something to do with the place. I've been there /lots/. In fact, I'm going to be there in a little more than a week.
He says: "My mom was born there." I have no idea if he's telling the truth or not on this one. I think I'm going to have to ask around about it because now I'm curious. I have no idea on the timing of this stuff, though. I should have asked for dates.
Anyway... It was an okay game but I was much more interested in the Angels/Blue Jays game on the scoreboard that went 18 innings last night.

Date: 2005-07-29 07:53 pm (UTC)I'm not a big sports fan at all, but when I pay attention to sports, it's baseball. Though I do like to watch hockey to see boys beating the shit out of one another.
