The schedule is out!

While the Canucks don't play the Red Wings for Opening Night, they /do/ play them for MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! *dances around* Okay, so it is three days after my birthday but... STILL! And the 19th? It's a Sunday! Maybe I can just make it a nice big super birthday weekend.

They play the Coyotes for Opening Night. I think I can pass on that.

The Wings play the Canucks on November 13 and March 19. They play the Avs on October 22nd, November 30th and April 15th (Last game of the season. Should be good stuff.)

If you want to see the schedule, it's here.

Now to watch and see who we keep and who we let go. It's been a bumpy ride so far. The Avs put Forsberg and Foote on waivers. Crazy!

I'm excited, but...

There's no Flyers this year (so, I can't see my team), and no Pens (no Sidney Crosby this year)...I'm a little bummed out...

I mean, I'm really happy hockey is back and I do like the Wings and the Avs, but it just isn't the same for me, ya know?

But, it does work out awesomely for your b-day, tho :)

Yeah. They're trying to focus on rivalries this season, which is a good thing, but it does mean that people aren't going to get the ones they might have before. I would have liked to have seen the Pens but... well. We can't have everything.

Maybe Center Ice will be free like I heard it would be? Even discounted would be cool.

The rivalries are cool, I agree...but, looking at the Canucks schedule (for example) they play the Oilers 3 consecutive games (one in EDM, 2 in VAN - over 4 or 5 days?)...

I dunno, but that seems a little extreme and it's not the only time that happens - there are teams playing back to back games in the same city, with a day or 2 in between.

Personally, I like a *little* variety...and, that means more than the single game from Boston or Montreal...

Regardless, I'll be making a trek north for at least one game, probably more - just not sure which ones, yet...any suggestions? ;-)

Hrmmmm. I don't know.

I'll have to look and see. I'm thinking of going to that first Avs game to route for the Canucks.

Well, if you figure something out and there's room for one more, drop me a line - if I can, I'd love to go along :)

Maybe the NHL is going to try to play as close as possible to the birthday's of all of their hardcore fans this year to try to get the love back from the public.
