So. Saw Kung Fu Hustle last night and I was impressed. It is an excellent time and I have already decided that I totally need to own this movie. I had some geeky "character I play" moments but what I really loved about this movie was that they did a good job of showing you what people were doing. I've become so frustrated with fight scenes that are cut so quickly, I can't see what people are doing. And it was super great to get some very nice scenes of people doing foot work.
Marci must see this movie for the dance number.
Tim must see this movie for the guy who looks like Bruce Lee.
Everyone else must see it to support good movie making that takes the conventions of a genre and while still working within them, still manages to bend them all out of shape.
What else? I don't know. There was something else but I'm not sure what it was anymore.
Ah well. I'll rmeember later, I'm sure.
