litheraI'm having a lovely time up here in Canada and I'm just relaxing. Mmmm.
It's come to my attention that I need to start with the movie updates again, so... here is... some bits.
Can someone at home set the Tivo to record the SuperBowl? Not only is the Batman Begins ad there but there is a Visa ad that all of the Marvel comics fans in my life must see and I WANT TO SEE IT TOO.
The rumor is that the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel has a title: PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST. The general plot (not confirmed) is that Captain Jack owes something to Davey Jones and hi-jinx ensue, which of course ruins the wedding plans Wil and Elizabeth are making.
Sam Raimi is finding someone to remake Army of Darkness. (Right now the front runner is Chan Wook Park but not a done deal.) That and he's planning on making another Evil Dead movie featuring Ash. We'll see if this actually moves forward since I've been hearing about this for awhile now.
There are, however, also rumors about the villain for Spider-Man 3. They want someone who can fight with Spidey on his own terms and be sort of Spider-like too. A quote from him - "We wanted to have a villain not only who would fulfill the character needs but somebody who could entertain the audience on a visceral level and provide great visuals, something we haven't seen before, and create a real challenge and great foe for Spider-Man and his unique spidery, spider-like powers." (Venom, anyone?)
If you didn't know already, Enterprise got itself cancelled. (Scott Bakula's career died for our sins, you know.)
There are reviews of both Hitchhiker's and Mirrormask coming out. They're all good so far. We'll see. I want to see them both.
According to Fox News Channel, Eva Mendes has joined the cast of Sony Pictures' Ghost Rider movie. No one has confirmed anything.
Dear God. Underworld: Evolution.
They're going to remake Casino Royale but there is no James Bond at the moment since Brosnan is gone. Who knows who is getting the roll next. Everyone and their brother have been rumored to be getting it.

Eva Marie Saint will play Martha Kent, the adoptive mother of Clark Kent/Superman in Bryan Singer's Superman film.

Snickering over the bad plot / acting while drooling over the costumes / women was an entertaining evening.
