Variety reports that 20th Century Fox has nearly found its Fantastic Four.

Studio has signed Michael Chiklis to play Ben Grimm/the Thing, Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and Chris Evans as Johnny Storm/the Human Torch. And Jessica Alba, currently shooting Dimension's "Sin City," has emerged as most likely to play Sue Richards/the Invisible Woman, though Rachel MacAdams and Keri Russell are also candidates.

Ian McKellen says: "I hear positive news about the second sequel, which is likely to include Magneto. The start date, considering Bryan Singer's other commitments, couldn't be much before September 2005. There is as yet no script nor am I signed up. On the other hand Hugh Jackman had a three-movie deal and Alan Cumming is also contracted to appear once more."

Anyone in Chicago? They need Batman extras.

Anyone up for more Police Academy? They're making an 8th movie. I didn't watch those past like... the 3rd one.

Jasmer Marsters says: "I said, 'Joss, stop it. Three lines, fifty lines, lead role, whatever you want man, call me", he says. "I'm there for you, because frankly, you're one of the best writers I've worked with. And he said he wanted to do a Spike movie. TV movie. But it's also contingent upon other characters. He wants to do four TV movies and one of them is Spike." Apparently in order to get any of them we have to get all four of them. Cross your fingers, hey?

I think I have to pick up the Books of Magic thing coming out next week as Neil is involved with how the story goes. And it sounds interesting. And it has Constantine in it.

I think that is it for the moment. Any projects people want me to dig stuff up on?

That note from Ian McKellen's sorta scary. September 2005 start date is like Christmas 2006 release for effects-heavy movies. Wah!

Great news about the Fantastic Four. Maybe it won't suck. Hope hope hope.

Well, that would make sense on the Christmas 2006 thing. The next Spidey is May of 2007. So... the timing works there. Also they're apparently trying to film 3 and 4 at the same time because of contracts and less wait time between sensative moments of plot. *shiver* Phoenix. Mmmmmm.

I'm hoing for you. I haven't heard anything damning yet but then again, I haven't hear anything comforting either.

What's the status of the new Galactica series - do we have a start date yet? What is the latest projected date and running time for he extended ROTK DVD? Any truth to the rumor of a theatrical release of the extended version? Are Dreamwave and Wildstorm going to keep producing Transformers G1/War Within and Robotech comics, respectively? What's the status of Irvine Welsh's Porno being made into a movie? Is there a planned wider release for Before Sunset, or is this it?

That should cover me for a while.

No start date on Galactica yet.

Projected date is mid-December and the run time is 49 minutes longer. I haven't heard anything that would lead me to think the rumor is true. Then again, I haven't heard anything to say it isn't.

I'd put more money on the Wildstorm project going through but they both look a little weak atm.

Don't know. I'll look.

At the moment, this is all that is planned, though that could change.
