So.. around the rumor mill...

Apparently Brian Synger wants to film X-men 3 and 4 back to back. They've already started contacted metal shops in the Vancouver area among other things. This is potentially for a whole bunch of reasons. Hugh Jackman doesn't want to be doing Wolverine forever and... well.. If they're going towards Dark Pheonix, you wouldn't want to do the first part and then wait four years for the rebirth stuff. You'd want to get all of you Phoenix-y stuff done at the same time.

Here is a link to the rejected Troy score. Much, much better than what they used, I think. (It's under news.)

There are rumors flying around that Governator is already making film bookings for 2006 and he's not going to run for re-election. Who knows. Right now it is just rumors.

Eddie Izzard is in Ocean's Twelve. As if the movie wasn't cool enough already.

Sony Pictures Classics today announced the acquisition of the North American rights to Zhang Yimou's House of Flying Daggers. The epic action romance adventure is the latest from film master Zhang Yimou, the director of such films as the Academy-Award nominated Raise the Red Lantern, The Road Home, and the Academy-Award nominated Hero. It stars Zhang Ziyi.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 will also be filmed at the same time. Apparently Jonny Depp also got his wish - Keith Richards will be Capt. Jack Sparrow's dad.

There are some heavy, heavy spoilers for Spidey 2 here and implications reaching towards Spidey 3.

Hellboy2. You better be ready for it. It's coming.

Here is a post on how the Hitchhiker's Guide movie is going thus far.

Joss Wheadon says Angel won't end on a cliffhanger, but then again he said that the ending of Buffy season 5 wasn't a cliffhanger, either. So... Take that as you will.

It kind of makes me sad that they're doing sequels to Pirates. I mean, I know production companies want to go with what they know will sell, but it was a complete work to me. I think adding more might muddy the greatness of the first.. much like the crow, or the alien movies.

damnit

Johnny needs to hold off on more movies until I'm wealthy enough to buy all of his movies for my Depp collection.

Arg!

Possibly. It says something to me that these are the first sequels Johnny Depp's ever done. It means something, I think. It makes me a little sad but... it could be good...

The line in your icon was a movie quote in last week's trivia game. I got it right away, of course!

Wow, lots of stuff to digest here.

I thought there would only be an X-men 3.. man I'm out of the loop!

Eddie Izzard would make a movie about the Cambodian killing fields cool, he's that good.

I think Pirates 2 and 3 might be good, but I do remember how the Crow franchise aged, like limburger.

Did Hellboy 1 really create that much of a buzz?

I'm the biggest Doug Adams fan, so this is good news. I remember him talking about it when I saw him at the Starship Titanic signing (the ony book in the english language to end in the word "The"). He said that he would go to Hollywood producers and get nowhere pushing Hitchiker... until Men in Black came out and told them that sci-fi comedy is possible. :)

The whole X-men 3 and 4 thing is something that's been rumored but this is the first time I've seena nything solid on it (aka contacting metal shops and prop workers for two movies.)

I agree about Eddie. He's freaking hilarious. And with that cast? There could be no end to the funny.

I wrote about it in the earlier post. I liked it. It wasn't the Illiad but then again, it wasn't meant ot be. Enjoyable. Very much so.

Post eaten. Suck...

Anyway, I was THIS CLOSE to being able to read the Electra script on Thursday. Then my uncle went to bed early.

They're filming it up in Vancouver. Jennifer Garner's apt / house is the total shiz, my uncle said. ;-)

Heh. I heard they were filming that up there. I have no idea what to think of it. Daredevil was okay... but... Yeah.

Hey, all I knwo is that they were filming a "gutter scene" at night when I was up there. Of course, that says very little about the plot of the movie there, doesn't it?

"Electra is in a gutter at night"

*shrug*
