.. I never thought I'd use the economics courses I took in college but here I am preparing to train tomorrow on terms like Pure Product Margin and Revenue and Gross Profit. Who would have guessed? Not me.

So, because I'm a dork, I cannot remember what the heck we did the rest of the night on Wednesday. I have no idea. Honestly. Thinking about the other events that must have been the night we went to Patty O's. We waited in line and went to go get drinks and came back and had Hurricanes. I have filet mingon and it was really, really good. Mmmmmm. Holly went to get a drink and came back to get my support for a potenital brawl in the bar with some Avs fans. Unforunately they had departed when we went back. Wusses.

Thursday is easy, though. Thursday was souvenier day. We went shopping, though the morning started out with more bengiets. On the way to breakfast we stopped in at a candy store and people bought all sorts of different things - mostly pralines if different kinds, though. While eating breakfast we listened to some great music, including a trumpet player who did some amazing circular breathing. There was also a guy making things out of balloons, who was impressive.

Then we went shopping and bought lots and lots of things. I had snagged a necklace of beads with a Red Wings logo on it. It has become much like a rosary for me. I hold it on game days and rub the beads together saying Hail Mannys, though now that Cujo's playing I'll have to come up with something else to say. Maybe I'll make up a mantra about the greatness of Stevie Y or the Grind Line.

There was much shopping done and I still could not, for the life of me, find any pairs of cool boots or shoes which fit me. This made me sad but Holly got some nice shoes and a great jacket (though this was earlier in the trip.) I watched some of the Red Wings game and it was good. Very good. Mmmmmmm. Then we went out to this hole in the wall BBQ place Cody had picked. It was very good. I got a plate of meat which was great but it was too much for me to finish. I felt a little guilty about it, all in all but we then went to Brennan's for more dessert. The bananas were better when Ryan made them but desert was loverly.

So. Friday. We woke up early. We were going to Six Flags. I know how to get there now, in case it is ever important. We ate breakfast and got on a bus and then waited for another bus for 50 minutes or so. Then we got on that bus and rode it... for.... ever. We saw lots of New Orleans we wouldn't have normally seen and that was really interesting. It was also another sign we were in a different place because the color balance wasn't any where near towards White or Asian. It was amusing to hear comments about the white folks at the back of the bus.

Anyway.... We get to Six Flags. I feel that there is something... odd from the moment we get off the bus. There isn't anyone here. So, we go up to the people dressed in Six Flags shirts, also getting off of the bus and talk to them, or rather, Ariel does. Apparently Six Flags is open only on the weekend and that means Saturday and Sunday - not Friday. So, we have pictures of the sign and a few of people flipping it off, for fun. We got back on the bus and headed back towards the hotel.

This is where I saw the "Omni Fertility and Lazer Institute". No kidding. None. I have no idea what this place is really for but I must say that the name really does cause one to think about what it could be.

Getting back, we decided to wander around the French Quarter some more and then back to the hotel for more hot tub and pool action. Then we went out for dinner, Cody and I going to The House of Blues, where there was a great band playing and there were some amazingly drunk people from New York across from us. They were pretty funny. We met up with everyone else at the Old Absinthe House where I reconfirmed that I don't really like the taste of Absinthe or Fake Absinthe, either way.

We wandered around and found that the cool goth-y clothing store was closed and then went back to the hotel to crash. Or, well, Cody went to read, I took a shower and Sean, Holly and Ariel went out for more drinks. We crashed and then got up to wait for the airport shuttle.

Flying into Charlotte was lame. It seemed like we had to do the Hokey Pokey in order to land. Left turn... Right turn... Left turn..... TURN... And the landing was not smooth. Not the worst I've had but a little unhappy. In Charlotte, I wandered around some, finished reading Fluke and was generally a little thoughtful. The flight to Seattle was mostly smooth and having Big Fish as the movie certainly helped with that. There were tons of kids on the plane and some of them went a little bit crazy.

I drew a Wom-Wom coconut strip for Holly and I have another on planned in the future - sometime. My art is inferior but I can draw a little bit. The landing in Seattle was mostly smooth except for a part where the entire plane dipped sharply down and to the left. When the entire plane goes, "Whooooaa!" it's not just you. Note to pilot - not fun.

Then we came home and... Well... We're home. Home is good. I like it here. It did me the favor or raining yesterady to remind me I was home.

Can't remember a night? As a former resident of New Orleans, it sounds like you did just fine :)

*laughs* We imagined going around and zapping people with the Fertility Lazer! Wouldn't that be funny?

I apologize in advance...
