HOLLY!

We need to go to Vancouver so you can lay the smack down on that goon Bertuzzi! Wow, that's ugly. I mean, I'm not fan of the Avs but damn, no one deserves that. That's not a fight... It's just gross.

Anyway, in other hockey news, today is trade deadline day, so the trades will be fast and furious, so I'll be paying a little attention to that as I do my work this morning.

Here is Hugh Jackman being funny. (Quicktime)

Last night was an interesting night of RP. Arisia seems to have settled into a nice blue funk, though I guess that isn't that surprising, all things considered. Shiva is just amazingly angry. That will be interesting.

As for me, I'm going to the gym tonight. Wheeeee! Then I need to come home and do some laundry and pack to go house sitting for the next week and a half or so. I feel the old insecurities trying to creep up and I smack them down. I'll be fine. It isn't as if I won't be able to get ahold of anyone if something happens. Yeesh. You'd think I had a fear about living by myself.... No matter what, though, I think it will be a good thing to have time to myself. Me and a whole bunch of books and video games.

Curse you Mike, you and your not PS2 having self. I could have played FFX-2 to my heart's content! Ah well. I will make due, I'm sure. Oh, the hardship!

How far have you gotten in FF X-2? You doing the side quests?

if you want...

...you can borrow my PS2 for a week. I'm stuck in both of my games, so I'm giving it a rest.

I'm doing side quests and random stuff and just kind of doing what I feel like doing. I'm in chapter five but with Sean and Cody in the house I've seen just about everything except the actual ending of the game.

I've completed FF X-2, but did not get a 100% complete.. I'm trying again, so that I can get it.. Also trying to get the remainder of the dress spheres.. Needless to say.. I like how, when you complete the game, you can start over with all the dress spheres you've had and have them already trained.. At 1st level, w/ the abilities the dress spheres they have now, oh my, things are like, oops, dead already.. Nice....

Sweet! I'll see if I can borrow (steal) one of the copies of FFX-2 in the house before I borrow the PS2 from you. I could always play lots of Sin Tzu and lose horribly, too. That would be fun.

Yeah. I'm lookinf forward to getting to that point. I'd like to play the game again. When I started I really rushed through a lot of things. I'd like to go back and take more time with some stuff.

stupid games that have side quests that have to be defeated before you can go on...

I'm pretty good at platforming games but I suck at flying games...

Anyway, you know where I live (or at least Kris does).

Don't forget, there are three endings:

Normal ending, which you get no matter what.

Good ending, which plays after the credits and the normal ending you get if you do one last thing after defeating the bad guy.

Perfect ending, which plays after the good ending if you get the good ending and 100%... which is damned hard to do unless you play through a second time.

The X-Box is nice, I'll grant that... but why limit yourself to one system? I adore my X-Box, but there are many things the PS2 has that the X-Box doesn't...

Oh, I know. I'll just see what I gfet after going through this time. I already know there are things I missed. Not too worried about it.

Thanks, though!

Oh no. I could borrow Cody's if I wanted. I prefer to deal without one, really. Having a guide takes something away for me most times. I only go to guides when there is something I absolutely need to find that I can't.

Actually, I love the built in bookshelves in Mike and Leigh's place. So many good books. So much love in that house!

I wouldn't mind rushing through part of it.. Get a 2nd ribbon.. And then, on the 3rd try, take it even slower.. Get the 3rd ribbon while doing all the tasks.. And then really go at things.. By then, I should hopefully have all the dress spheres for everyone maxed out...

Heh.

I'm not all about X-Box. I prefer the PS2 and that's because I'm not a FPS player.

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] gamethyme, I love the PS2 and the Gamecube makes a nice doorstop and the Mario Games are nice coasters for my delicious ice cold beverages, but I cannot afford multiple systems. I am so happy that Rockstar finally ported the GTA Double Pack to the X-Box.
I am jonesing for the plethora of fine, fine RPG's that the PS2 has, but not to worry, my PS-2 on the X-box emulator is almost complete, muuahahahha! Sudeki, Fable, and Jade Empire, and the already out and PIMPING KOTOR should help bring parity in the asshat rpg exclusivity console wars ...

X-Box also has some REALLY nice other games... Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic is one of the best games that came out last year (though it's now available on the computer, too), and there's also Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, which is the best fighting game EVAR.

The PS2 is about $50 now if you get it used. The X-Box is about $100 used. The Game Cube is about $75 used.

As long as you're not insisting on a brand-new system, they're really cheap and affordable.

From: [identity profile] crispengray.livejournal.com

Oh, and I agree completely... KOTR is one of the best RPG games ever.

My personal favorite storyline is as a female lightsider, playing up the romance sidequest with Carth. That has one of the best storylines period.
The female darksider with the romance with Carth is also a nice one... but so much of the darkside storyline is boring and "I kill this person because it's easy to," so when the good part of the storyline shows up, it's not really worth it.

You can actually get two ribbons in one time through... though it's tough.

I was a light side scoundrel which was fun, but I never got enough skill points to be albe to repair HK-47 memory core myself. Nor, was I a pimp enough warriro to take out the main champion in the first planet's "Kumate" hehehe. I loved the game, but I don't know that i'd go back and play it as a dark side character or a female to see the other story branches. Though if they made a lesbian dark side story tree possible, I'd be there! Did anyone else get that happy feeling in their nether regions when Bastilla is captured and made to run around Tattoine in her skivvies??? *cough*

From: [identity profile] crispengray.livejournal.com

Um... there is a lesbian love story that can be activated... but not with Bastila. She doesn't swing that way. But another female jedi character does...

If you kill Juhani, the rude female Jedi you meet shortly after arriving on Dantooine freaks out and flees in tears, and confronts you on Korriban... she and Juhani had been "companions."
Also on Korriban, there's a man who recognizes Juhani if you have her with you... he had loved Juhani, but she didn't care for him "that way."
Juhani is a lesbian. And it's very hard, but there is a romance possible with Juhani instead of Carth if you play a female character.

Cool! If I go back and play the Dark Side, I would not kill Juhani, she is a formidable warrior!

Ummmmm. You could send it to me and I could recommend you? If you do a text version would be loverly.

Also, I'd appreciate it if you'd look towards the trivia on c_jyd's journal... I think you could help. If you're not already involved in the quiz thing.

Ack! Sadly, though I've always loved Dr. Mid-Nite visually, I know nothing about the character beyond his basic powers. And I heard an amusing rant by Matt Wagner about him when I was in high school.

Cheap shots

Yeah, that it was nasty. While I don't think he meant to wipe him out that bad, he was defenitely looking for the cheap shot. Word is he's gone for at *least* the rest of the year and the playoffs.

Goon.

I got 98% the first time through and have all dress spheres too... only got a 98 cause I didn't do the chocobo thing on the Me'Hin High Road. Though I was so unable to get the Ribbon that you can get before giving Barali(sp?) a smack down right before you fight another boss... won't spoil stuff for those who haven't gotten that far. This time I'm gonna go and give the AWSOME sphere to New Yevon just cause I didn't last time I know I know I can't get anything more than 99% but hey that's why you beat the game a 3rd time.

Ack! Ack! All of my mail to Hotmail addresses is being returned as undeliverable!

I submitted my application online this morning -- is there a way you could tell HR that you recommended me? Or another non-Hotmail mail address I can reach you at? If the latter, please email me using that address and I'll send my texty resume in a reply.
