Six degrees of seperation..

I like wandering around LJ, finding people I know and leaving comments. It's interesting to see who comes and takes a look in return.

It's kind of sneaky and all but it's workable.

An hour till Mike picks me up to take me to Tacoma land. Wheeeeee.

Pssssst.

Wouldja liketa buy a noun?

[identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com 2004-02-20 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I seem to have plenty of nouns. Or perhaps not.

What is the going rate for a noun these days anyway?

Really? I'm not sure if that's marvelous or atrocious.

But I have these only slightly used nouns on special, just for you, only today, for a mere twenty-seven cents!

Or buy ten for only two fifty.

I want to see a sampling of them before I buy. A test drive, as it were.

This one here, see, it's "Constantinople". A proud noun, fallen on hard times, is all. It just needs someone to love it.

Here's another nice one, "penitent". It's actually handy because it can be used as an adjective too, so you're really getting two for one there.

I wouldn't normally show just anyone this one, but since you're such a good prospective customer, I have this special one just for you. It's "intercourse", and it's extremely versatile. It can be used for people talking to each other, or if you're feeling risque, there's a wide variety of sexual practices that it can be used with!

So, am I selling high-quality goods, or what?

Mmmmm. Excelleny wares, indeed. I was wondering if you have more than one instance of certain of those?

Generally I've only got one of proper nouns like that "Constantinople" sample -- they tend to be unique -- but I've often got a small stock of other nouns.

And then there's the occasional large shipment of "fuck" I have to find a way to get rid of without inappropriate attention, of course...

Could I get a discount if I perhaps buy in bulk?

I could use a large amount of some nouns. Like "fuck". Such a versatile word.

Luckily for you, my...ah...distributor just came into a large shipment of "fuck". I believe he said that he had, let's see, what was it...ah, yes, a "metric fuckload" of "fuck".

And yes, I can definitely do a bulk deal, but it has to be no questions asked, you understand.

I can understand the "no questions asked" idea behind where you got a "fuckload of fuck"

Do you deliver, or do I need to come and pick it up?

'That's a great deal to make one word mean,' Alice said in a thoughtful tone.

'When I make a word do a lot of work like that,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'I always pay it extra.'

'Oh!' said Alice. She was too much puzzled to make any other remark.

'Ah, you should see 'em come round me of a Saturday night,' Humpty Dumpty went on, wagging his head gravely from side to side, 'for to get their wages, you know.'

(Alice didn't venture to ask what he paid them with; so you see I can't tell you.)
