.. to make up for such a lame evening. Augh. I felt like hell last night. I came home and stumbled around upstairs doing random things and being really ill. No, no, really ill. I did some laundry and realized this morning that I left important things in my pants... like.. keys.. and my passport. *rolls my eyes* Believe it or not the passport will be fine with some flattening.

Check it out. Ian McKellan is wearing a chainmail tie and leather pants. I think I'll join this community. Those pictures were a pleasant way to wake up.

And I had forgotten this was coming up. There are going to be awesome people there. Greg Rucka! Brian Micheal Bendis! I must find Greg Rucka and thank him for saving the character of Wonder Woman. Some other pretty cool people too. Mmmmmm.

I still don't feel great but there are things that I have to do here at work today. Bleh. My stomach is still not the happiest but at least it has settled down. And my nose seems to have dried up some too, which is a very good thing. I hate going through a box of kleenex in a day.

And there are just some people that I wonder if connecting oin the surface level is all they know or all they want. It's an interesting quandry.

It seems to me that trying to connect on a deeper level, about things more important and permanent than Geek Stuff(tm), is a risk, because an unwelcome attempt will be... offensive, I guess, at worst, and awkward at best.

It was just a thought that occured to me about all people. Your point is very true, though. It is always easier to connect about things that are less important. I just find it unfulfilling.

It's like eating potato chips. Sure, they're pretty good but after awhile it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth and you feel unhealthy, craving something better.
