Well, the Oscar nominations are out. I'm a little surprised at some of the nominations but I'm happy with most of them.

Namor has undergone his second script draft and concept art is starting to come out. 2005 is going to be comic book crazy. I'm just looking forward to Man-Thing this year. Supposed to be really spooky.

There is new action on a Supergirl movie. They're looking for a new writer. It would be rather amusing if that got underway and out before the Superman movie did.

Barbra Streisand is reading the script for Meet the Fockers. Dustin Hoffman is already signed. You know, I love Dustin Hoffman. He's such an amazing actor to be able to slip into just about any role... I just... Bleh.

Paul Newman has been set to lend his voice to a car character in the upcoming animated feature, Cars, the latest film from Pixar, the last Pixar movie with Disney, I think. In conjunction with this new role, Newman will take the wheel of the Disney/Pixar sponsored racecar on January 31st and February 1st at "The Rolex 24 At Daytona".

Paul Newman is at the age where he shouldn't be driving down to the local Safeway, let alone in a Daytona race. The last couple times I've seen him make public appearances, he's been a little slow, a little shaky. Maybe he needs to NOT race at 150 MPH.

Wow. I'm pleased with the Oscar nominations for the most part. I am surprised, though... with the amount of critical acclaim Big Fish got, it's only up for one award... and that's for Elfman, not Burton.

The Oscar nominations have the unusual effect of making me want to see several of the movies. Well, I already wanted to see them, but they reinforced that. Usually they just make me hate the Academy.

Nonetheless, Scarlett Johansson must be AVENGED!

Tim Burton is not loved by the Academy. I'm a little dissapointed but not really surprised.

As my Gym Reading (http://www.variety.com) indicated, LotR: RotK will prolly take Best Picture and Best Director for a plethora of reasons, none of which will be because they deserve it, which they do.

Johnny Depp. Rawk.

I hope LotR finally takes a Best Picture. It'd be about time that a fanboy movie won best picture.
