Canadians get better ads than we do.

You can watch the intro or not. To watch the ad, click on SCORE and then TV ADS.

Ahhhh. Markus Naslund and Ilya Kovalchuk. Excellent.

I like the part with the octopus. Of course, I would.

I need a Stevie Y icon or something like that. Maybe a Datsyuk one.

In the commercial, when they get back to the arena, Kovalchuk's shot goes off the crossbar, over the glass and they jump the glass to chase the puck (FYI, the look on Naslund's face in the next shot is priceless)...

However, if the netting was up (which it should be), the puck wouldn't actually go over the glass and they wouldn't have to climb the glass...it just bugs me...heh

And, there are several other commercials based on this one...one with a Canucks goalie grabbing the puck (and a tazi) when the players leave the hotel; another with two security graurds watching and re-watching a clip of video from a security camera...pretty cute stuff...

Yeah. I loved the look on Naslund's face. It was like, "Wha? Maaaaan."

True. Now that we have netting up all around they wouldn't have to go up and over. Still, it doesn't both me, it amuses me. Hee hee.

I'd love to see those other ads as well. Hrm... Stupid American tv.

If you have cable with CBC (ch.99) they usually play these commercials during Hockey Night in Canada...they play them a lot, too...

I do, in fact, have the CBC but am rarely home or in control of the TV for Hockey Night In Canada. Sad me. I shall have to become a TV dictator one of these evenings.

Well, if there comes a Saturday night when remote control (or control of the remote) is not yours, let me know...I think I could wrangle some control here, and I'm always ready to watch some hockey...

I was wondering where an octopus would come in in a hockey commercial.

When I clicked on the TV Ads link, it had the full 60 second version and two 15 second ones, which were the two shorter ones mentioned.

Heh. There are plenty of places an octopus could come up in relation to hockey. Especially in Detroit, even though they weren't.

Canada does get way cool comercials compared to the US. Back in the late 80's we could get MUCHMUSIC on Dad's sattelite dish. Not only were a lot of the videos cooler but the ads were way better.

A few years ago some Madison Ave company did a study and discovered that people remember the annoying ads more then they do the entertaining ads. So more and more ads were designed to be annoying.

Hockey RULES!

Hey UI am with you.

I think that people whio design anoying ads should ge dragged out into the street and shot in the head.

I have a great idea. Let's get a bunch of militant Greens together get M-16s and Colt 45's and assualt Madison Ave. Just drag all of the ad execs out into the street and shoot them. Then march on wall street.
